Breitling Chronomat 44 GMT Stainless Steel Bracelet

Anybody dare to replace the bracellet with leather strap ?
I mean, I've tried to replace my white dial exp2 metal bracellet with a brown leather strap , but as soon as i put it on my wrist , it looks really off or its just my feeling just want to know if any member of the Rolex forum dare to wear your "was with metal bracellet " Rolex with leather stap around ,,, ?rgdsPete J

I test drove (ok, test wore ) the 5124 today.. You know, this one..Photo credit w220 But didn't buy it. While it was small for my wrist (which I expected) I was very impressed that it wasn't as small on the wrist as it looked sitting next to my wrist. It's probably the first 'small' watch that looked good on my wrist. Actually, if the strap was a bit thicker it may have even worked on meAnyways, I was very impressed & liked it on the wrist much more than I thought I would.. But - not enough to give up my 5135 quest

New or Used
Although most of the watches I own were purchased NIB, I actually prefer to buy used since it can result in substantial savings that can be applied to the purchase of more timepieces.For me the only snag in the equation is finding solid pre-worn examples of any given watch. I don't mind restoring a piece if I can buy it right. But I learned from my fling with collectible cars never to sink more into a piece than you can get back. Never say never - you will ALWAYS sell it!The next best thing - value wise for me - is to purchase NIB from a gray market source. I'd say the majority of my NIB watches come from the gray market. (Disclaimer: I think WTF policy is to discourage gray market sales/purchases). I don't have the warranty issue and the gray market, in my opinion, is part of the watch industry's game. (But that's a different discussion).So what's your buying strategy?

Sotheby's Results 6/14/12 - Is modern Patek now overpriced?
I'm looking over the Sotheby's numbers today. Most of the Graves/ Fullerton collection did great and far exceeded the high estimates, but the newer stuff kind of bombed in my opinion. A couple modern deals IMO from the Graves auction were:- Lot 23: 5040R - $35,000 (less than 1/2 price of last retail)- Lot 34: 5110P - $37,500 (the one later in the day went for ~$10k more!) The last 4 lots of the following general watch sale were all fairly modern Pateks and none even met reserve. They were a 3970EJ, 5970G, 5101R and a 5033P. Obviously, the reserves and estimates were a little greedy to say the least. Sotheby's must be disappointed to finish such a historic day on a sour note though. Wonder if we'll see a slow down in the market or if this is just a blip on the radar?
