Breitling IB011012/C790-TT wrist watches news:
IWC Schaffhausen has made 2013 the Year of the Ingenieur, and to launch the new collection in the U.S., the brand joined WatchTime for a gala event at its flagship boutique in New York City. Prior to the event, WatchTime spoke with IWC North America president Gianfranco D’Attis about the revamped Ingenieur line and his lifelong personal connection to the brand.WT: You were raised in Schaffhausen, which makes your connection to IWC a very personal one. What was that like, and when did you first become aware of the brand and the role it played in your hometown?GD: Well, my entire family wore IWC watches. In Schaffhausen, at least 10 percent of the town works for IWC, so you’re basically not allowed to wear any competitor’s watch!WT: So It would be like driving a foreign car in Detroit?GD: Absolutely, and everybody is proud of representing their town on their wrist. Whenever I see an IWC watch, I see it as representing home.WT: Have you worked for the company your entire
Has anyone else been having time issues with ordering crystals from Maria lately? It does not take long for items to get to me from Texas, via USPS. But lately my orders have not been dispatched until 10 days or so after order is placed, even though the label is printed and logged with the P.S. Satisfied with the product, just wish for better service.
My eye caught this article and indeed it's encouraging news, Bremont wins funding to bring watchmaking to UK - TelegraphI am attracted to a Bremount and probably will pull the trigger at some time, but for now I'm distracted by Swiss brands and there I feel lays Bremont's challenge. How do you convince people to part with 3K plus for a watch by a company founded in 2002? British design with Swiss movements is attractive but...........Submarine at ?3295image.jpgand PO at ?3950image.jpgI know I would have the change in my pocket for the next watch but, the PO coaxial movement would do the deal for me. Am I in the minority?
I've developed an interest in watches from the 1930s, 40s and 50s (from watching old movies, corny I know). So I was wondering, when did affordable automatic watches become available to the public? Were the mechanical watches all replaced by automatics? Did the automatics take over the watch market or did most people stick with mechanical ("wind up") watches. Thanks in advance for the lesson. Best regards.
Hey guys need some help regarding the topic.I have set my mind that my next purchase will be a Omega Speedmaster Pro Moon Watch.I spotted a 30th anniversary ltd edition last man on the moon at one of the local watch shops which was asking for approx USD3200.It looks to be in good condition and is a complete set. Can you guys let me know whether this is a good price and typically what would be the price range of this piece in similar condition/completeness.Thanks in advance
