This year’s Bonhams vintage car auction at the Goodwood Revival features a selection of fantastic memorabilia, vehicles, and a fantastic selection of vintage watches with some sort of relation to cars. The group (lots 60-77) feature makers such as Omega, Girard Perregaux, Corum, and of course, Heuer. Below we have picked a few of our favorites. The auction takes place this Saturday, September 12th. Lot 66 ¨C Stainless Steel Calendar Chronograph Heuer Carrera 45 Dato, Reference 3147N, 1967 1 OF 8 This stainless steel manual-winding chronograph from 1967 is part of the first series of the Carrera reference 3147. This model features the date aperture at noon, red numerals, and two subsidiary dial configuration also seen in the Carrera 45. This series was in production for only one year. Advice on selling my Skyland Avenger Chrono
Hi all,Long time lurker. Looking at doing a remodel project and we don't want to borrow $$ so I'm looking at selling a few toys. I have a two year old Skyland Avenger black faced chrono with the pro bracelet. Bought from certified local dealer and have all the boxes, paper work, etc. I also had a cleaning done by Breitling last year. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get top dollar on it. (near perfect condition) I've seen a couple on Ebay go recently for $2,800 - $3,300 which is right where I'd like to be on it. I've just never sold anything on Ebay before and am a little leery selling something this spendy. How would you go about it? Consign through a dealer or just do the Ebay thing but only accept a certain type of payment? I'll probably post in the classifieds as well but I wanted to get a feel for what I'm doing first. Hammy Field Chrono problem
While I was trying to set the time for my Hammy after a couple days of non use, I wasnt able to set the day and date. I turn the crown, but they seem to be stuck. Has anybody had this problem before? If so, is there a simple fix, or would I need to bring it to someone to fix?

Well I thought I was going to be a proud new owner of a Rolex Explorer...
Well I thought I would be a proud owner of a new Rolex Explorer 1 (214270) yesterday but I thought wrong... (apologize for the long story telling...)I ventured into trying a new AD as my typical AD just sold the one they had in stock a week back. I also wanted to give a chance with this group as they came well regarded amongst the local watch community and they carried a couple brands exclusively that I might be interested in for the future. I did my research and decided to go with the Explorer for its subtlety over the No Date Sub. I fancy time only pieces and just loved the look of it for an everyday watch. I went and tried on the piece mid last week. Everything fit perfectly and decided it was for me. Now the “fun” part begins... Knowing the depth of our watch market and accessibility with both pre-owned, well respected non AD members, and even other non local ADs, etc I knew there are a variety options available for me. And given that, I set my expection for the piece.
