Breitling A13356 wrist watches news:
The road to Glashütte is long, winding and beautiful – just like the eponymous brand, Glashütte Original. HODINKEE recently visited Germany to learn more about how Glashütte Original is so intrinsically linked to German horological history. From the early 19th century with Glashütte’s four founding watchmaking fathers to the postwar German Democratic Republic (GDR) period, to the modern watchmaking renaissance we know so well today, watchmaking never stopped in Glashütte. Join me on a trip to Germany to learn what the “Original” in Glashütte Original really means. 1 OF 25 Road sign, entering Glash¨¹tte. Rough translation via Google: "Here lives the time, Glash¨¹tte wishes you a pleasant journey." History There is no better place to learn about the history of German watchmaking than the German Watchmaking Museum Glashütte. Located in the center of town, the museum now houses exhibits, a restorat
Hi, I have a chance to pick up a Speedmaster at a decent price. I've always envisioned the classic Speedy to have a Hesalite crystal with a solid case back. The one I can buy has the sapphire crystal with the exhibition case back.Just wondering what the perception is of a Speedy in the above stated config. Thanks in advance!
I am about ready to fly to NY and get my Omega back from the service center. I sent my SMP in because it kept starting and stopping. It's under warranty so I brought it into my AD and they mailed it in the first week of Dec. 2007.They called me two weeks later to tell me the watch was magnetized. How that happened I can't figure out. They informed me they are covering this under warranty and giving it a complete service while it is there, free. Great I thought as it's about $500 to have an SMP chrono serviced. I was told they are closed the week between XMas and New Years but I should expect my watch back by the second week of Jan.2008. No prblem, Great I tell them.I didn't hear from them and I called Jan. 22nd. I was told the watch was in Quality control and I should be getting it back in 7-10 days. OK, fine.Another two weeks go by..Nada. I wait and call them back Feb. 15. I am getting pissed by now. I get a call back saying they are really sorry but part of my free service I never ask
Thanks to PuristSPro's Amanico who broke the stunning news......no words necessary!!! Thank you OP, now all I have to do is to try to be one of the first 1000 to get it, before the flippers do!!!
How do Swiss companies get away with copying all the styling cues of, not just Rolex, but other 'high end' watchmakers and openly advertising them on t'internet?Given that Rolex in particular are seen by some, as having an almost tyrannical control over the sale and marketing of their products. How do companies like Steinhart, et al, that promote their watches as, 'Swiss Made' manage to exist, apparently, manufacturing, blatant copies, right under the noses of the swiss watch hierarchy?[attach]930226[/att
