New guy here, I just bought my 1st ORIS Carlos Coste edition Diver a few months ago. This was my first official Swiss made watch in my stable… I have been lusting for an ORIS for some time now. Well after trying it on it was an instant Love affair. The Case is a beautiful hunk of titanium. The case is 47mm but it wears more like a 44mm because the case is tapered (very comfy). The Dial is what sold me with it's beautiful raised and inlayed markers. The SuperLuminova C3 Lumes are bright and well defined. The rubber strap is very comfortable but the titanium bracelet just makes the watch complete IMO. I’m not a big fan of the whole Pepsi dial scheme but on my wrist, it’s just perfect. Hopefully I will be certified to dive by July so I can put that 6,561 feet to the test (LOL). Sorry about the crappy pictures...
I purchased this watch in the mid 80's from a hunting magazine add. I think I paid about $30 for it. It was manufactured by Hamilton for Remington Arms. I replaced the battery and it is running like a top.
Ive been eyeing on another diver watch lately, and how am I got so excited that actually there are soooooo many diver style watches out there Can you guys show me your updated, favorite diver watches ?Thank you
I have just spotted this article on the BBC website:Tiananmen Square: Watch commemorates 1989 crackdown - BBC NewsI don't know if this can be viewed outside the UK but basically it's about a watch given to the troops and police who were involved in the suppression of the Tiananmen protests.Given that hundreds were killed would anyone on the forum be prepared to buy such a watch if it came on the market?I would not as I as I feel that these watches were a reward for a dreadful breach of human rights and have strong ethical objections to such an item.
