got to thinking about the mascot and Dayton, Ohio. . going to try to put pictures with my thoughtsDayton Ohio is a tool town, I learned a very long time ago that Dayton Ohio is/was the 4th largest area in the country for toolmaking behind SanFransico, L.A, ChicagoI spent two years at a trade school to learn how to operate the manual machine tools needed to build progressive dies, then I was hired here, worked here as an apprentice for 3.5 yrs, building progressive dies for Whirlpool Ovens, fuel tanks for Ford, fuel injection for Ford, catylitic convertors for GM, power window brackets for GM, pulley covers for John Deere, air conditioning condinsor dies for ChyrslerI wanted to be a graphic artist, but in Dayton Ohio? Ya have to learn the tool trade.My father spent 33 yrs working here as a machinist for GM, this is the old Delco Moraine brake plant, over 3,000 jobs went to Mexico when GM/Delphi closed this facilityDad worked at the brake plant all night and raised hogs at our farm, like

I'm looking at a new omega for myself. Something simple yet elegant. Is seamaster recommended? I like the aqua terra quartz. May I know the retail price? Thanks

Uh-oh....
OK- so here's the deal: I recently 'acquired' a minty-mint 2008 Speedmaster Pro 3570.50 from a buddy here on TRF (Thanks again, Bill!) as a kind of weekend/workhorse watch- aka something to wear that's maybe a little more 'casual' than my ss/plat Yacht-Master.So- I get the watch, head down to the Omega store on 5th Avenue in NYC and have a black rubber strap with white contrast stitching on a deployant buckle attached. ($405!!!)The customer service is fantastic there... no 'tude, and knowledgable, nice people! Glad to be part of the Omega forum now, too-So...to the uh-oh part. The Speedy is probably the most comfortable watch I own, and has been getting a lot more wrist time than the YM. I'd go so far as to say I actually enjoy wearing it MORE- for both looks and comfort.Just wanted to share this Saturday morning, and will post pics soon.... have a happy Holiday everyone!
