Breguet Manuscript Brings Over $2 Million at Patrizzi Auction
Patrizzi & Co. sold a manuscript by Abraham-Louis Breguet for a record 2.3 million Swiss Francs (approx. $2,078,000) on Friday, May 7, in Geneva. Nicolas G. Hayek, president and CEO of Montres Breguet S.A. purchased the 354-page document on behalf of the Breguet Museum in Paris. Dictated by Breguet to his assistant over the last five years of his life, it is one of the most important horological documents in existence with in-depth explanations and drawings of Breguet’s many innovations and watchmaking legacy. Despite technical problems that prevented online bidding, total sales from the auction were 5,802,250 Swiss Francs (approx. $5.24 million). About 70 people attended the auction in Geneva. Vintage? Omega Automatic Seamaster De Ville
I don't remember how I acquired this watch, but I've had it for quite sometime with hopes of restoring it. I don't know much about the watch and was hoping you guys could help. I don't see any other obvious markings on the watch. I am clueless as to how one would open it or if I should even try. Perhaps that should be left to a professional. The band is busted. I looked up the patent # listed on the band, here is the link.I guess my first question, is it real? What year was it made?There seems to be a small spot on the dial to the left of the "Seamaster" logo between 7 and 8like Thumbelina spilled her morning coffee. Hopefully this can be cleaned.I think with a new crystal face and band it would look great!

Thinking about buying this preowned conversion kit for my 15400. Seems really hard to detect fake stuff when dealing with plots, straps and such. Obviously the clasp is the biggest expense. Can anyone chime in on whether or not this all looks good?Thank you!
