Breitling c49350L2/a706-1or wrist watches news:
I am thinking of purchasing a Datejust model 16233 did these come with a Quartz movement or just MechanicalThanksGeorge
Last year I bought what I thought was a very nice Longines Conquest caliber 19ASD. The seller's (eBay ID of del-plata) photos from the listing made the dial look phenomenal:I was willing to break my own rule of not buying from South American sellers because of the risk of being scammed (ask Joe K about his issue) and the cavalier attitude they seem to have about the definition of "mint" and "original". I was also willing to buy it outside of eBay to save the seller the fees. STUPID! Turns out the seller either over-exposed or doctored the photos to hide some blatant scratches:So I complained, and of course he took blew me off - until I threatened to tell eBay he avoided the transaction fees by removing his listing and selling it privately. Now he's giving me the run-around again about paying a portion of the redialing fee from Kirk Rich (cost of $160 with shipping to & from):Anyhow, I list the watch - which was supposedly "just serviced" (what a bunch of bs!) and the new owner
Hi all, I have recently purchased a new Tissot T17.1.586.32 T that has a loose 60 second chronograph hand, hopefully it is not a damaged movement!I noticed a small arrow pointing to a hole in the back of the movement near the crown, using a small needle with some tubing slid over so that I don't poke it too far I poked pried in all directions for about 10 minutes with crown in first position after unscrewing, finally it virtually just fell out, don't know what I did but oh well at least it's out and the pin doesn't appear to be damaged, I assume when you replace it you just push it back in!Any help/guidence most welcome, at this stage I haven't checked the hand.PS. I don't want to send it back as the International postage cost for registered mail from Australia is around $30.
I have the chance to get a 111 from an AD. I tried one on a year ago when on holiday and was very keen, but memory can play tricks, so would like opinions as its 200 mile drive and they won't hold without a deposit. Any views both good and not so good welcome. Is it realistic to get a discount? Extra straps maybe? Are these easy or hard to come by?Thanks in advance
So I am thinking of purchasing my first Rolex off the grey market for a significant discount but the downside is obviously no 5 year warranty from Rolex. So many people here are so concerned about not have the Rolex warranty that they are willing to pay an extra $1000's for it! Sounds crazy to me. My question is are people really having that many problems with rolex' within the first 5 years or is it just the piece of mind you are looking for? I would think the watch would be pretty robust for such an expensive time piece..... I understand you could have a lemon and anything mechanical could break (because it's mechanical) or you abuse it doing stupid things. Assuming it is not worn while working out or swimming or jack hammering all the time, I would think it would last forever.... Am I missing something? What types of reasons have you had to send it in for repair for within the first 5 years and when/how often do you where it? Is there a couple of very common issues with them? What
