Breitling A2432212/B726-SS wrist watches news:
Ball claims its new EH Magnate is built around a single objective: to create a utilitarian watch designed for people who demand optimal reliability. It delivers on that count, and adds into the bargain a COSC-certified chronometer movement and the Ball Watch reputation for ruggedness and excellent nighttime legibility. Find wallpaper and pricing inside. The Magnate Chronograph is powered by the automatic-winding Ball 2050 movement (ETA 2824 base) with a chronograph module and date display. The movement has earned an official chronometer certificate from the Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronom¨¨tres (COSC), as confirmed by the ¡°chronometer¡± inscription on the dial. The Magnate measures 40mm in diameter and 14.85mm thick. Ball claims shock resistance to 5000 Gs and anti-magnetic resistance to 4,800A/m.The twin sub-dials indicate continuous seconds at 3 o¡¯clock and a 45 minutes counter at 9 o¡¯clock which is used in conjunction with the chronograph center seconds. The stainless steel case h
It's sort of a general rule of thumb that mechanical complications increase the price of a watch. If you look at a brand's catalog, their chronographs, GMTs, perpetual calendars, etc¡ (should they have them in the first place) cost more than simpler 3-hand models, and understandably so. As the name implies, complications increase the complexity of the movement, which, generally speaking, increases the amount of parts, labor and skill required to make the movement and thusly increases the cost. So, when you're perusing the internet or a local shop and you come across an automatic GMT with a power reserve and decentralized date by a reputable brand, you're likely looking at something that costs at least $1,000, more likely much more. Well, Orient once again defies pricing logic with their CDH00001B ¨C Explorer, which costs $650 MSRP, or $455 with an Orient 30% discount code (try fall2012).So, what is the Orient Explorer? Well, on paper it's basically everything you'd want in a traveler's
When talking watches and Formula 1, one name comes up again and again- Heuer, or in more recent times TAG Heuer, and this series would be remiss without at least touching on the contributions TAG has made to both fields. TAG, short for Techniques d'Avant-Garde, made its F1 debut in 1980 as a sponsor for Williams GP, but their involvement in the sport grew soon afterward in 1983 when they co-developed the TAG-Porsche V6 power plant for the McLaren team.A deep professional partnership soon grew between the TAG and McLaren, and when TAG purchased Heuer in 1985, the newly created TAG Heuer brand quickly became McLaren's secondary sponsor behind Marlboro. To market this partnership, the first new release for the TAG Heuer brand in 1985 was the Formula 1- a budget-minded quartz that looked to extend the TAG Heuer name to a younger, sportier market. All of this is relatively common knowledge, however, and I never really paid any mind or took a liking to the Formula 1 until I did a little more
About a year ago, I purchased a Palisade on eBay. At the time, I was advised that the dial was not original. Here's a picture to refresh the collective memory:Last week, I was lucky enough to snag a dead stock etched dial for it: I think that this particular dial would have come with this style of hands:Would anyone happen to know what this style of hands were called, or if any of the standard supply houses (Ofrei, Jules Borel, etc.) would stock these? Did they come in specific sizes for the 987 movement? Please PM with answers on the suppliers as I don't want to violate any rules here. I would prefer to replace the hands with new ones, but I do have a plan "B" in mind involving a round robin swap between several watches in case these hands can't be found. As always, any help is greatly appreciated! gatorcpa
Perpetual moon phase all that good stuff...You cant see the moon because of the angle of the lighting...This is not my watch, It belongs to a friend of mine. What do you think? What would you say its value is and a decent price to pay?I personally think it is one of the most fantastic APs I've handled.
