Houston, The Speedy has landed!
My Speedy finally arrived today. It is better than I expected, excellent quality and killer good looks. I liked the metal bracelet more than I thought I would, not so sure about the leather strap anymore Unfortunately I wont be able to provide a wrist shot until Friday. I lent my digital camara to my cousin for her 3 week trip to Spain, Egypt and Israel and she is not due back until Thursday night.I do have two questions:1) Where can I get polywatch?2) Can anyone reference a site with pictures on how to polish the glass? The hexalite is perfect now but I suspect I may need it one day. Unfortunately I am a visual learner so pics help a lot. As my friends can attest, you could spend some time explaining to me how to do something, but show me a pic or blueprints and I can take appart and fix something better than the "experts" themselves. Entry Level High End Face-Off: Chopard vs Vacheron Constantin [more Q than A]
Ladies and gents, after a few months of searching and thinking, I am torn apart between two entry high-end pieces. Need your thoughts and inputs on few questions. Let me begin by showing the contestants: and on the other side: As most of you already guessed, the battle is between the Chopard 1937 LE and the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 47040For all purposes of this comparison price should be considered equal, i.e. taken out of the equation. So, my train of thought has travelled pretty much through the following stations:Movement Chopard: Cal 1.010 - designed to be the "base" movement of LUC, suggesting volume production and possibility for modules. 60hrs power reserve. Roughly 5 years old, so not exactly proven in the field? Movement Vacheron: Cal 1226 - unfortunately, I could not dig out data on this one, except it has 40hrs power reserve. Could be Piguet-based or in-house. Flying blind on this one. Case Chopard: 42mm, beautifully finished. No thrills, clean lines. Crown @ 4o'clock is

3-Watch Collection Strategy
I'm seeking your sage advise oh wise Rolex Forum. I want to build a 3-watch collection over the next 5-10 years. I have my first of the three with a Hulk Sub. For the remaining two watches, I'm shooting for a budget of 30k. I want to be deliberate. I love the whole SEAL-based strategy, but I'm not sure that really actually fills my first world needs. Speaking of, here are my desirements for a watch collection:1. The more formal situations. Mr. Hulk is fine, but I'd prefer something a bit more refined. I actually really love the new Everose Datejust 36, but I'm really naive in this genre. Any good affordable PP to consider?2. A GMT of some sort. I'm partial to Rolex and actually really like the new Root Beer. However, what else is out there that I should consider?I used to be in love with the Daytona, but I've sort of lost interest in the chrono type watches as these are complications I would probably never use.Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
