Breitling 271 wrist watches news:
I just realized this morning that as I desire and seek a traditional black dial brushed bracelet Rolex (considering coke GMTII, standard black Sub, ExpII and Dweller), that I really kind of want them ALL!!!!This will be expensive.
I've become interested in men's watches from the 30s. Some of the designs are so unique to the period, and unlike the gazillion watches that are called 'Art Deco' on Ebay, they really ARE Art Deco. One in particular caught my eye - the Bulova American Clipper. It was made, as far as I can tell, from 1936 to 1940. It came with white and black dials, and plain or engraved bezels.I nabbed one a month or so ago, nonrunner, which is now off at my Watch Guy's for a spa treatment...I thought, 'One's enough', but then I saw one with a period-correct bracelet, and somehow I found myself bidding on it, and won!The problem is, although I find the bracelet fascinating - it's got a really cool clasp, and it really fits with the watch - when I put it on, it's just SO SMALL!!! I mean, it's a good fit - it's obviously a MAN'S bracelet - but it is so far outside the current aesthetic for mens' watches!I put it on, and my wife said, "Too Girly!". One of my coworkers said, "Wow, that's too Femmy." B
I'm wearing my Russian mechanical (handwind) chrono tonight.I actually prefer the handwind chrono to the standard Valjoux 7750. Slimmer and somehow more satisfying to wear.So talk to me, guys. What hand-wound chronos do you recommend? Thanks in advance for the pointers.
I was trying to decide between the AP Royal Oak Chrono Pride of Italy or Blue Boutique edition. I ended up with the former. They have been harder to come by of recent. I have always been attracted to the white dial and blue sub dials and accents. The dial is just beautiful. the rubber strap and somewhat cheap deployment buckle is the negative. Thus I have a bracelet on order. Would like a clear caseback --- but I knew that going into it...
So it's been a busy month for me. I just picked up a BLNR and love it. Watch was is great shape. Wanted to thank Tom (Ttomczak) for an easy transaction. Would not hesitate to purchase/trade with him. I love this watch. The PCL's are a love hate. I like the bling factor, but according to TRF they are scratch magnets. I plan to pick up a Blue Rubber B. That way I can rotate depending on my mood. The Braclet is smaller than the sub. In don't see any half links. I have every link in and ext expanded at it fits slightly loose (almost perfect) and with ext in feels tight. Miss the glidelock to be honest. Those 2mm increments are amazing. Either way I am happy and tickled pink to finally have my two favorites models.
