Coming to us from Glashutte, A. Lange & Sohne have taken their benchmark Grand Lange 1 model and given it a dose of of funk with a semi-transparent dial, a la the Zeitwerk Luminous.? This pre-SIHH release is a limited edition of 100 pieces, all cased in platinum, and represents the first time the trademark outsized date will be luminous.It was just last year that ALS introduced the Grand Lange 1 with an entirely new manually wound movement - this time without the second mainspring barrel - to allow for a thinner profile.? any opinion on portofino 356501 ?
I have never owned any IWC watch before, and yesterday i was impressed by the appearance of one of their collections at the IWC AD in downtown area ,the portofino 356501, its a very clean silver dial dress watch with 40mm dial and leather strap. Anybody has any opinion on this model ? I know its probably the lowest class of the IWC collections ( maybe the cheapest) but any opinion or recommendations are very welcome...thanking in advance...

Longines Barlow
Hi from Alaska. I have developed a watch habit over the last couple of years and recently came accross a 1952 Longines Barlow, 10K gold filled. Serial # 8389879. The original owner added gold nuggets to the case. To most this addition seems tacky and until I researched how rare gold nuggets are, I agreed. Other than the nuggets, the watch is original. Movement is clean, winds smoothly, minimal patina on the dial. The gentlman is asking 500 USD. I do not have pictures, yet. I am new to Longines watches. Alaska is a tough place to have a watch habit because there are so few of us up here. As a result good info/advice is hard to come by. Any opinions, good or bad, are greatly appreciated. Alaskan.
