Blancpain 2189F-3427-63B wrist watches news:
Ball, Hamilton, Bulova, RGM, others?
I've always thought the spacing between the case and the spring bar/strap on my watch seemed a little much, which was switched from the factory bracelet to a leather band. Recently came across some interesting info which may explain the issue. Any truth to this?"If you buy the model on a leather strap, the holes in the lugs for the pins are closer to the case...so the strap fits close to case with a very small gap. The same watch on a bracelet has the holes for the pins further away from the case. This means that if you buy the leather strap model then try to fit a bracelet at a later date, the end links will not fit. If you buy the bracelet model then fit a leather strap you will have a large gap between the strap and the case."
No, it's a NOS vintage Caravelle by Bulova with a very rare 3D dial. It measures 38.2 mm by 41.5 mm and is 11.7 mm high. The brushed case is finished in a black that does not appear to be PVD and actually looks like some sort of anodizing. The dial has vertical brushing and a 3D effect that ranges from blue, to grey, to almost black in some lighting. My understanding is that this watch was manufactured by Bulova in the 1970s and it features an automatic movement. It comes on a thin, glove soft, 19 mm strap. I have been able to only find one other example that was for sale on WUS some time ago. I doubt I'll ever encounter another person wearing one of these.
I am considering adding a white nauty to my lineup but Im worried about fit.My wrist is about 6.5 inches and fairly flat on top. To put it in perspective, I cannot get my 1680 bracelet to line up the clasp as there are too many links on the 6 o clock side, so the clasp sits very far towards the 12 o clock (not centered at all). There are 4 full links and the 1 weird looking link on the 6 o clock side, and same on the other side (ive taken all the removable links out of the 1680).As for my LVc - its a very good fit with the clasp being center and I have 3.5 links on the 6 o clock side and 6 links on the 12 o clock side with the glidelock set on the first notch inwards (you cannot see any notches looking at it).My EXPII 42mm, I have 4 links on the 6 o clock and 6 links on the 12 o clock - fits perfect. My question - based on some of the above info - would the nautilus be a decent fit for me? I want it to be comfy and centered. I hate when the watch starts to sit too far back to the 12 o c
