Cartier W20106X8 wrist watches news:
Recently I picked these two up. After some TLC they run very will. I did find some information on them, but anything you can add would be great. The Elgin watch I found some good information.Elgin Serial Number : C181254Production Year : 1943Size : 8/0sJewels : 15 jewelsGrade : 554Model : 7Run Quantity : 28000Production Dates : 1940 to 1951Total Grade Production : 1358000Movement Configuration : Hunter Case (wristwatch)Movement Setting : Pendant Wind and SetMovement Finish : Flat/Matte Nickel FinishPlate : 3/4 PlateBarrel : Going BarrelAdjusted : NoThe EMCA watch was difficult to find information on. I'm not sure how accurate the information I have found is.From what I can tell EMCA was a brand produced by the IOCO (Isidor Ollendorff Co., New York N.Y.)Most likely around the same date as the Elgin late 30's - 40'sThis company and Elgin had some kind of relationship they used some of the same or similar dials and bodies. The movement is a Eska Watch Co. 17 Jewels.
Someone tell me about Renato watches! I stumbled across them tonight and am really feeling their design. Tim, I know have the down low!! Teach grasshopper pie favor
Tried on many and loved them all for different reasons. But in the end, this one called to me above all the others and in my eye, has that balanced versatility that I look for in all watches. Thanks to everyone on this forum for the enabling pics, and thoughtful reviews that pushed me towards my first AP!
I have been told that ANY speedmaster watch has the ability to have the bands changed from link to strap or strap to link. I want to buy a nice speedmaster day/date which has a stainless link bracelet and CHANGE it to a new omega leather strap with the new deployment clasp. Can anyone confirm that this information is accurate??? thanks
So to make a long story short, I have been lusting after a 5711/1a blue dial for a while, and if they weren't so difficult to find sealed from an AD or even at retail from a trusted seller I would probably have one already but the difficulty finding one is really holding me up. Recently it dawned upon me that if I buy this watch, I won't be able to buy another substantial piece for at least 6 months without the wife cutting off parts of me that I would prefer to keep. So what do I do? Continue my almost religious flipping of watches that gives me oh so much satisfaction or just shell out the cash? Current Collection: 116520 Daytona White Dial 116710 Blnr116610 Sub-C Black Explorer 1 - 39mm67' 5513 Meters FirstTudor Snowflake Blue Date - 81' unpolished Omega Speedmaster 2998-4 I would happily part with the explorer and sub-c and then likely sell the Tudor to bridge the gap a little more. Opinions Needed! Thanks TRF
