help me find a king scuba!
Hey everyone. While doing my usual browsing the web looking at watches I stumbled across the "khaki scuba king" H64515337 W/ the black rubber strap w/ red stitching. Man is that a beauty or what. It reminds me of a Serket, which I've wanted for awhile, but just cant swing the $ right now. With a 2834 movement, sapphire crystal, screw down crown. day date.I currently dont have a watch with a rubber strap and have wanted one. The red stiching is a bonus. I've seen them going for around $500 online (which is a good price) but a few forum members have said they got them for a little over $300. So my question is : WHERE? If anyone has a lead on where to find one at a great price like that, I would greatly appreciate it. A post or PM maybe. I've been very happy with my "khaki aviator tachymiler" so this would be a great addition to my collection. and if anyone own's one, does this model have the "hamilton" engraved on the side of the case? Not a big fan of that. Thanks guys , Kurt

Question on the Avanti Series
Kevin - I saw the Avanti Catalog link in the Orbita newsletter:orbita/NEW/images/Avanti_Catalog.pdfIt looks as though the Avanti 3, 6, and 12 models are offered in a different color of wood than the 24, 36, and 48 models. Is that the case?The wood color of the larger models looks more red toned to my eye, which would work MUCH better with my bedroom furnishings.

The case, in 18kt white gold, measures 42.5mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a a display back and is water resistant to 30 meters. Movement is the Irish made manual-wind McGonigle in-house caliber McG01 with 31 jewels, 18,000 vph and a power reserve of 90 hours. It features double mainspring barrels connected in parallel, a free sprung balance spring with Breguet overcoil and a gold escape wheel (functions without oil). The dial is transparent sapphire. thinking my next watch may be a panerai but.....
hiI'm pretty interested in a pam 356 chrono....the daytona is just too small for me and have it be a chrono. i like the size of the omega speedy but to me, the bezel looks a bit cheesy (sorry for the rhyme)....and i love the crown guards on the panerai.....however, in as much as the references to the italian navy don't instil confidence with me, i am used to the reliability of rolex and i really have zero tolerance for a watch that needs maintenance.....i don't want the 'have to tinker with it' ferrarri type, but instead like the reliability of the mercedes or honda type -exclusive of quality issues....bottom line: am i setting myself up for issues with the pam 356 or other pams? should i look to iwc's ? thanks in advance...
