Tag 6000 series question
I have a 6000 series that I bought new in 97 and have had no problems with it until last week. I noticed after doing some snorkeling last week that it had moisture inside and then the hands started discoloring from the salt water and then a couple of days later it stopped. When I got home I took it to an AD and it needs a new dial and hands and a complete service. I'd like some opinions from everybody on here to see if you think it makes sense to spend the money to fix it since the value of these are not a whole lot more than what it's going to take to repair it and it seems one big problem with this watch is the band breaking (which hasn't happened yet) and that will be very expensive to replace too. Hello all: A friend of mine was asking where the best place would be for him to get his Seamaster Auto serviced. He lives in Ottawa. I assume that there is an Omgea Service Centre in Toronto, but I figured I'd ask here on the forum since many of you may have better opinions as to where he should go for service. Many thanks, Chris

Would you sell 233 for a Dark Side of the Moon?
I know the watches are very different, but lately the Omega dark side of the moon has really caught my eye, and really conflicted as to whether I should sell my 233K dot dial to fund it. I consider the 233 to be one of Panerai's modern classics, and my only manual wind watch. But the DSotM is just so well constructed, and I really like the all ceramic construction (including pushers, crown, and dial), and both the polished and brushed effects on the watch. It also has a great in-house movement, just like the 233.Unfortunately I can't keep the 233 and get the DSotM, so if you are in my position, would you sell the 233? Appreciate everyone's input and thoughts. Will also post in the Omega sub-forum to see how the reactions differ

Hidden factors in picking the right Rolex.
Closing in on my first Rolex and I've not really narrowed down which reference I really want, if anything the references under consideration only keep growing!I know from some of my other interests (cars, clothing, even cookware) that sometimes what you THINK you want isn't actually the one that will give you the most satisfaction. So my question is: are there things in your life that you should consider that will impact the kind of Rolex you might like? For example I work a lot in offices, I'm a creative person, I dress with some flair but pretty casually -- does that perhaps mean I should consider X Rolex rather than Y? What are some factors that you hadn't considered that ultimately did affect your satisfaction?And just so you know, I'm actually kind of enjoying not being able to pick a Rolex. So many to choose from!!
