Baselworld 2014 is almost upon us, and I have continued to preview new watches and cover other news on my blog, Watch-Insider. Everyone knows that I look at watches as jewelry. I am interested in design and especially 'signature' watches whose design is recognizable. This is what my interest and 'collection' is about. I cannot see spending money on watches that have no 'signature.' The other problem with watches is that they are fairly boring as jewelry. It is sort of odd that a $30,000 watch does not look much different from a $30 watch at ten feet. This isn't right. I really don't understand something like a Patek. I can appreciate the materials used, but it is odd that something so plain can be so expensive. I am not impressed with that. It doesn't interest me at all. You could have a Bentley for the same money. It is silly.Now, there are ways to get around the typical boredom of watchery. One is size and the other is gems. Good materials and detail is good at short range. Size can be an eye-catcher and reflect dollars paid.But here is another possible future use of watchery: STEAM PUNK!Yes,

The 15202 is a temptress!
Not sure if I'm looking for moral support, enabling, or a swift kick to the head but here is the issue: I really want a 15202 (at least I think I do) but I just don't think it fits my lifestyle. I'm sure I would give it a number of scratches and just bang it around a lot because I want to wear it daily but does that... nay SHOULD that matter? Watches are meant to be worn right!? But what about the WR... and so goes the conversation in my brain. Currently I have a 3 watch collection: Speedy, Milgauss Z blue and an AP Diver. To me the speedy is the only watch that is SAFE in the collection; the z-blue and diver could go on the chopping block for the 15202. Mind you, I've owned the 15202 once before but stupidly traded away though I can't recall why. What are peoples thoughts? Trade for it? Keep what I have cause they are more ME? Any help appreciated

Hi allWent to the AD here in Sydney and offered this piece. But look at the day window. Does this look ok to you? The salesperson was saying it's alright, and it will eventually switch to the next day - may be in next couple hours, so he said.What do you guys think? Is this normal?? Or stay away?And if you think this is not normal - kinda worrying that this sort of problems can occur to a Patek 😖
