- The watch has a new look and a modern touch. The bronze accent in the center of each link and on the dial are different. the mechanics or insides are shown in the front but also behind the face. It also charges itself as you move it.

John & I toured the NAWCC museum in the morning and RGM after lunch. He'll be doing the full photo tour, but here's a few teaser shots as a preview. You can check the Omega and Hamilton Forums for other brand influenced photos. There were plenty of things to see at the NAWCC museum, including a small exhibit with pieces on loan from NASA (including a moon rock sample). Everyone was fantastic, and Noel, Marcus and Carter went out of their way to accommodate our picture taking requests. I felt bad for Carter (the curator) who had to track down the keys for a few displays. Here's a marine chronometer from a time when American watch making was dominant in the industry:How about a triple calendar office clock?Just a tiny fraction of the gorgeous pocket watches:These two are from the early 1700's:And what a huge display of clocks of all types and sizes!...but you'll see MUCH more when John completes his editing. The crisp smell of morning after a treacherous downpour the night before permeated the air as I parked at Valley Fair Shopping Center in Santa Clara California on January 8th, 2017. My New Balance sneakers quickly became water logged as I accidentally stepped into a two inch puddle. Muffled cursing under my breathe escaped me. I was simply making my rounds through Macy's, picking up a few dress shirts and stopping by a Coffee Bean kiosk and off I would be to pick up my kids from my mom's house, who were being watched by her for a few hours. My wife was spending the weekend with two girlfriends at a spa retreat. I savored the few hours of respite, even if it happened to be in a mall. Shirts in tow, I paid for my coffee and made my way down the escalator taking a leisurely stroll enjoying my iced coffee. Then I passed it. The logo is known the world over and I have seen it countless times. It never really stirred anything more in me that curiosity, partly because I had always felt Rolex
Hello Chaps, with the great assistance of TempoKing, I finally pulled the trigger on a GMT Master II that I have been chewing on for a year or so since I sold the Explorer II that I Bought from Gagan (another S&G). Great transactions with both and thrilled to have a Rolex back on my wrist. TempoKing even put in my green date wheel gratis. What a guy!!!The build quality of fit and finish of Rolex just puts a smile on my face. I work in aviation and what we can do with metal is just incredible and probably slants my view of manufacturing and metal finishes. I didn't think the Explorer really suited me. But I am loving the GMT and the PSLs. I have many pilot friends with various GMTs and coveted them. No longer! This watch is from the same year as my newborn son and I plan to give it to him when he is older. My grandfather wore a Rolex for many years back in the day and it was one of the you wind versions. My father wore it for a few years but the taking it off to wash your hands thi
