UK-based Uniform Wares has made a name for itself with modern watches designed with sterile dials (no text) and slick looks that are based on classic timepiece design principles. For a while, Uniform Wares has teased a move to a complete "Swiss Made" production, and now at the end of 2014, the re-vamped collection of all Swiss Made Uniform Wares products is available. Yes, it does mean a slight hike in Uniform Wares watches prices, but it should also mean a hike in overall quality and finishing.The brand is still dedicated to their own brand of high-end quartz, so we are still talking about mostly sub $1,000 prices. Having said that, these new C-Line C41 Chronograph watches top out at about $1,600 (around 1,000 GBP) depending on the model. Hello everyone,Has there ever been a stainless steel Date Just with a smooth (non-fluited) bezel, and black dial? If so, what model and year(s)?My reason for asking: During my childhood years, an uncle wore a Tudor DJ with black dial and smooth bezel. I really liked the looks of his watch, and am thinking about buying my first Rolex (pre-owned), with a black dial, date, smooth bezel, in stainless steel. Hello everyone!The fast way to start this is to say that my long-time girlfriend is graduating soon from college and is dropping hints that a watch would be an appropriate graduation gift and I am in over my head.To give you an idea of just how little I know, I was given a Tag Heuer for my graduation and had no idea until a year later that it was worth more than $500.This isn't so much a willful ignorance as simply being of the younger sort and carrying a cell-phone with me at all times as my chronometer.With that said, I am wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on what would make a good watch that she can use for many years to come in her career.Here is what I know of what she would like:- Something that looks professional- Likes the three "sub-dials" on watches- Does not like "sparkly bling" (i.e. crystals, flashy colors, etc.)- Watch case should be between 20mm-30mm wide or so.- The thinner the case, the better (height rising off wrist)- Men's watches should beokay- Lightwe
