I posted in the WTB forum for a 2998 Speedmaster, but I fear many of the members here don't frequent that forum, so I'd like to just mention that I am in the market for one of those rare birds. If anyone knows of a good candidate...from a friend...another site...etc, please send me a message. I saw one sell recently on Ebay for 6k, and that seems to be about the lowest price for a solid watch. Most sellers are hoping for 8 ish, it seems. Although, most don't sell. I hope this post doesn't violate any important by-laws or guidelines.

Hi guys. I've been trying to make up my mind on what to acquire next for a while now and have decided that the 5711/1r is the watch for sure. I've spoken with a few different grey dealers about pricing on new pieces so wanted to see what you all thought the correct market price is right now. I've read many posts stating that PM pieces can be had at a 10-15% discount fairly easily from ADs but it seems like ADs do not like dealing with new customers that email them or phone them. I have had zero luck even getting in contact with a sales person from the closest AD in Memphis after four attempts so feel like the after sale service would be just as poor. That leaves me with what info I've gained by talking with a few different grey dealers. I don't mind dealing with grey dealers that have a good rep here in the states at all and have bought a couple watches from them here on the forums. So in a round about way what I've been offered is between $13-14.5k for my watch and $31.5k-$33k cash wh

Patek 5711/1A-011 review (very long)I will begin this review with some background. I have been buying, selling, collecting and wearing watches for years. I have been seeking a happy balance in my collection and had never felt that what I had acquired was really right. Recently I made a positive lifestyle change. I began to eat better, exercise and lost 42 pounds. One happy side effect of this is feeling better and going clothes shopping. One unhappy side effect is that my wrist size shrank from 7 ?¡± to 6 ?¡±. My tenuous satisfaction with my watch collection was hanging by a thread. Large watches were now gigantic, bracelets did not fit, and straps were on the last hole . . .One day I happen into the Patek forum and begin to see pictures of the Nautilus. Why are people so enamored with this watch I wondered? I began to research Genta, looked at the AP Royal Oak, which I did not like at all and realized that my initial attraction with this design began with a Vacheron Overseas s

This is a shot I just took...and will complete my collection for a while...I bought my first the 116613LB Sub back in September, then the YM2 SS a couple of months later, and just picked up the 122660 SD43.
