1975/6 Omega Automatic (De Ville?)
This is the only Omega I own. I think it is simply an Omega Automatic, but it looks a lot like a De Ville. This watch is from about 1975 and was a gift to my grandfather, it is inscribed with a date on the back. I later inherited the watch without a band and bought a leather band for it.He wore the watch all the time and it certainly looks well used. The glass (sapphire?) is scratched and chipped. The metal case is also well worn with some dents, dings, and scratches. It looks as if someone at some point had tried to open the back up without the correct tools. As I said the watch was given to me without a band. I assume that the original one broke or was too far gone to save. My grandfather died in 1991, so he wore the watch for only about 15 years. It spent the next 13 years sitting in a jewelry box until my grandmother died in 2004. I was never set to receive the watch, but when my mother found the watch among my grandmother's junk, she said that I could have the watch.It

Giddy over new custom strap
Just arrived. :) Unfortunately it falls on the biggest night in my city's sport franchise. I will either be drunk happy or the complete opposite somewhere in a ditch with a paper bag over my head. So no way will I be able to strap change tonight. Initial reaction is WOW on the Teju Lizard texture. Other features include curved ends with springs. Extra heavy 5nm padded and thick to carry the weight of the Lange it's going on. Here are some pics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New arrival in gold and steel
A friend of mine (large public company CEO) has been persuading me for months about the virtues of the Royal Oak. I've had the opportunity to spend some quality time with his in both gold and steel. I wasn't 100% sold on either until we discussed the new two-tone 15400SR. Two-tone tend to be a love/hate thing, but I'm the exception who likes it in some watches and not others.Anyway, after getting together earlier this week, I made the impulsive decision to acquire a RO in steel and rose gold, and was able to get one here just in time for a business trip out to the Bay Area. I'll have a few days to bond with the watch and see how I really feel.For now, here's a pic:The prior owner was gracious enough to get the first minor ding out of the way which allows my OCD a breather until it goes into Clearwater for its first servicements (even if you hate it) welcome. :-)P.S.
