F.P. Journe Donates Auction Proceeds to Help Provide Homes in Japan
At Christie’s Hong Kong sale in May, the first all-aluminium F.P. Journe Centigraphe Sport No 001 sold for an extraordinary US$465,170, close to ten times its original estimate. The sale was to raise funds to aid victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The donation ceremony took place on June 3 at the Swiss Embassy in Tokyo. Gathered for the ceremony were the Ambassador Mr. Urs Bucher, Mr. Fran?ois-Paul Journe, Ms. Yuko Fukagawa from Christie¡¯s Japan, Mr Richard Bliah, founder of the Franco-Japanese FERE foundation, and the representative of M¨¦decins du Monde. With its program ¡®100 maisons pour 100 familles¡¯, the FERE Foundation is constructing temporary anti-seismic wooden houses to relocate families that are victims in the northern city of Tome.Fran?ois-Paul Journe said: ¡°I am tremendously happy that the charity sale of the Centigraphe Sport will contribute to bring relief aid to earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. greetings from next door,just popped over from the hamilton forum with need of advice,I am looking to buy a used seamster professional, automatic 41mm approx, black wave dial, full hands, not the skeleton james bond type,dial with line markers, not the dots, also found on the bond watch,I added an image, I have looked on ebay, they seem to make big prices, are these prices realistic?also nervous of fakes,if anyone can advise me on where else to look or has one for sale, I would appreciate the help,thanks for your time on this, best regards,James

Hi guys.I was just wondering if any of you have wrist shots of a 8500 AT midsize on anything close to a 7.25 inch wrist.I'm about a hairs breadth away from taking the plunge but, since I live in a remote location miles from an AD, I'm considering my first ever Internet watch purchase. I've seen and handled the 42mm in the steel and liked the finish but not the size/proportions so it would be great to see a 38.5mm on a similarly sized wrist to mine.Here's a pic of my sub to give you some sense of the scale of it on my wrist...
