A modern beginners' watch, Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic
I really like the way this forum is coming up, and was really excited when GLADIATOR told me to post some info about my Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic, as a modern beginners' watch.Hamilton is a brand with a lot of history (which mostly being Americans, majority of you will know much better than me) and the Jazzmaster line is the one consisting of dress watches. The watch has the following noteworthy features-Sapphire crystal- mine doesn't have a scratch yet and I sure do hope it stays that way.Stainless steel case- I prefer SS to gold plated which is too much bling imoTransparent caseback- The caseback is also Sapphire crystal.ETA-2824-2 movement- It is a 25 jewel self winding ( bi-directional) movement which does duty on lots of watches and has proved itself as a very reliable and durable workhorse movement. Muji! Yes it's a watch brand... from Japan?
I recently acquired an awesome watch.It's an automatic, and it's by the company named Muji.A Japanese brand, it's a rather interesting watch. 41mm diameter with a push/pull crown.The part I truly enjoy about this watch is the simplicity.The style is apparently based on the school clocks distributed in Japan.What's more interesting is the origin of the movement.It says "Malaysian movement" but I've never heard of that.It reminds me of a Seiko movement.The only real question that bothers me is if it has a date wheel under the face.Because when pulling the crown, there are 2 positions and at position one, if you turn it, it feels like the date is being altered (clicks).Also, when setting the time, the hands turn really quickly, even with the slightest movement.Anywho, if you run across one of these, pick them up. I recommend it highly.Too bad the original strap is really poor in quality (buckle is really nice, though) and it's rather hard to come by outside of Japan.

Purchasing a New Watch: How Often
Hi Guys, I am looking to get a new watch in a few months. My obsession is on over drive. I want to get it now but I don't have the funds. How often do you guys pick up new watches? I got a new one last week, but now I want to get another one. I do not think I can stop. I have a problem!!

So I think I'm about to move my diver and IWC BP to a good friend and use the $$ to scratch my itch for the Bee. The deal is pretty much a wash in regards to cash with no significant outlay on my part nor is there any $$ coming back my way.Pulling the trigger would leave me with my Panda (have both strap and bracelet for it) and the Bee as my two main watches. I have another special piece that does not get much wear but is very sentimental to me.Am I about to make a mistake ? My fear is that this transaction will leave me with very little diversity and two almost identical watches. And I'm a bit concerned about the lack of weight of the Bee....always used to having a heavy watch on the wrist. The diver is great as its very versatile.On the other hand I do love the Panda and have lusted after the Bee since its release and I dont wear the BP much. And even though both Panda and the Bee have the same DNA, they are VERY different in their looks, case make up, etc....Any input is welc
