Bulgari IP20SL.M wrist watches news:
Ok...I seriously want a real "beater". I want saphire and 200m. With my terrible dissapointment in a Tag F1 (I took it back after it went south in48hrs) I'm looking at this beast in quartz...what's the verdict? Its at overstock for 300.00 and I plan on using one of my Waterborne straps.
.....that's my question .....there seems to be a thing going with all the upper watch companies, that they all have a model group that starts with "Sea" ..........Is it just for the cool sounding name? or is there some reason for it that everyone else knows about that I don't know ????
OK.Many of you know, one of my passions is 'The Genesis' of the wristwatch. No one truly knows a 'firm' date of when men started wearing wrist watches, but we know it started during the Boar War (1898 - 1903)However many of these 'so called' wrist watches were converted pocket watches, initially by just adding lugs to an existing pocket watch, or later by manufacturers mounting pocket watch movements in a wrist watch (with lugs).I have always loved this transition period, where the beautuful half hunter pocket watches were transformed into wrist watches. One of the few innovations that hasNOT been copied in modern watches. Why? Is is SO beautuful.Like this silver cased 'Half Hunter' made as a wrist watch around 1915:Now the above watch, I suspect was originally made as a wrist watch and not a pocket watch with lugs added later. Now the BELOW watch, SURELY started life as a pocket watch. It is a magnificent :1895 Omega Half Hunter
This watch is supposed to be a C series, but the AP logo is on top, not the bottom. I know for the A series it would definitely be on the bottom and don't recall seeing any other C series with the logo on top, but don't know if this true for all C series. Also, I have never seen a blue dial on a 5402, but I'm not an expert. If you are, I would really appreciate your thoughts on the authenticity and originality of this piece. More photos are available if needed. Thanks
Need some advice. I have been searching for a hulk at my local ADs with no luck. I am traveling to the Carribbean in a few weeks and took a chance emailing the AD on the island a few weeks back asking if they get a hulk in stock to let me know and I will put a deposit on it and pick it up upon my arrival. Fast forward to yesterday and they emailed me that they got one in stock. They want me to pre pay in full for the watch and they will activate my warranty upon payment of the watch. Would anyone have an issue with this? Or would you feel comfortable pre paying for the watch with a known and large AD on the island? Input is appreciated, thank you.
