I found this on ebay. It caught my attention so for $120.00 I ordered it from Hong Kong. It is still in transit. I know little about it can any body give me some information on the company and their watches. It looks 1970ish to me.OCTO MISSILEMASTER SWISS STAINLESS STEEL DATE 25 JEWELS 2824 AUTOMATIC MEN WATCHDial : Original dial and hands , date window at 3 o'clock Case : Stainless steel case and see through backMovement: Original automatic movement (2824)Band : Original stainless steel bandCrown : Original crown Glass : Glass topSize : 36mm x 43mm excluding the crownOverall : Movement running good
This is a 1915 Elgin, size 3/0s, 17 jewels, grade 423, serial number 18628019. I have only seen one of these size 3/0s Elgins with 17 jewels before, it had a broken staff and mainspring. It had no case or dial and it sold for about $400.00 a year ago. The database says that this was the 19th one manufactured in a run of 1000 but the Elgin Master Records say only 500 were made. The white gold filled Philadelphia case is in very good condition and I have not done a thing to it but wipe it down a bit. The case measures 36mm lug to lug and 31mm w/o the very nice crown. The dial has patina and is faded along with the hands. Movement is pretty clean but needs to be adjusted as it is running a bit fast right now. When it came in the mail today the band was the wrong size so I put a 16mm dark green Crocodile on it just to spruce it up a tad for the pictures. Crystal is fai
I am trying to decide my next purchase.. Should I get an IWC Pilots Watch Classic Mark XVI on a strap or an Omega Speedy Pro, black face, leather strap??!!
