- I loved the way the watch looked, very feminine, but after a year the design wore off, buttons were falling off, and the loop that held the end of the strap down broke.

.....#3 of 4 fun days (including the main event today) is over. Still hope to do some NYCtouring tomorrow if the weather holds up. What can I say....WE HAD A BLAST !!!...starting with Korean BBQ dinner on THU, visiting many watch stores on FRI,food festival and Cartier Boutique with museum exhibit this morning...and continuing with the GTG itself in the afternoon, more partying at the hotel bar afterward and 'late night pizza'juts a few minutes ago (as you can see from the time shown on the watches above).Needless to say, I am running on fumes at this late hour and all the energy I have left is to type these few lines, post one picture & send the greetings to ya'll.However, I promise that once back home - I will post a day-by-day report with many pictures. Thanks to all that made it here this year It was great to see someold friends and even better to make new ones.....and in case you think this is fun & would like to join us next time - we will have a GTG #7 in Tampa this fall,
In my incoming thread for my 5116R someone had asked to see any pictures I wanted to share from my recent visit to Patek. These were a few I felt had value, I wanted to make sure the only people appearing in the pictures are Patek employees.imgur/a/YHcOiI didn't really take a lot of pictures of watches on the trip, I'm not a big picture taker, but I did get a picture of one of the Grandmaster Chimes alongside a 6300G. You probably can't see too often unless you're one of the 5 people that owns a 5175 so I couldn't resist taking this one picture. We did get to hear the minute repeater on the 6300G.It's odd, but the loudest minute repeater on a wrist watch we heard during the entire trip was actually a 7000R. It was as loud as the pocket watches for some reason.
Another thread brought me to bringing up this question as I've been looking at the 5167 from some time. I've come to learn that the 5167 when it originally debuted had the 315 in it and the was quickly phased out for the 324. I've read that there 'may have' been as little as 150 of these produced but no evidence to back it up. I realize that both are reliable and that the main difference is the power reserve on the 315 is slightly longer, while that 324 has 28k oscillations vs the 315's ~21k, which improves accuracy. That being said, is a 5167 with a 315 movement something that might be sought after or seen as more of a collectible or just something that is merely outdated?...and therefore less expensive?
Teju Lizard skin that is...A while back I posted a pictorial of a Swiss Ammo Strap I had made by Dangerous 9.I recently received another custom strap made by strap master John Glance made from this very cool skin. The strap has one keeper and is 115 mm on the long end and 70 mm on the shortI should have gone more adventurous on the thread color, but I thought ecru looked best. Gray was my original idea.Panerai does not offer a lizard skin AFAIK...I really like this look.Cheers!
