At SIHH 2015 this week, Panerai Panerai debuted the Luminor 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Ceramica – 44 mm. This new model surrounds the P.9100 manufacture chronograph movement with a high-tech matte-black case fashioned from synthetic ceramic based on zirconium oxide. The flyback function offered by the P.9100 caliber instantly zeroes the chronograph hands and restarts them with the push of a single button. This chronograph is unusual in that it uses only two hands, both centrally mounted. The blued hand counts the chronograph seconds, and the rhodium-plated hand tallies the chronograph minutes. The continuous seconds appear on the dial at 9 o¡¯clock.The unusual chronograph uses two hands, both centrally mounted, and no subdials.To maintain the integrity of Panerai¡¯s trademark lever-based crown protection device, the chronograph pushers are located on the 9 o¡¯clock side of the case. I was traveling on business THU and FRI and when I came to the office on MON, a neatly arranged group of my mail was awaiting me. I knew that thelittle box on top was containing something that would interest more thansome marketing material or business bills ;)Had the watch on my wrist for the whole rest of MON:1) feels very solid and well built, legibility is unmatched....co-workers are coveringtheir eyes if they run into me in the hallway :D2) I am very pleasantly surprised by the solid links bracelet.I know it would be cost prohibitive to have the clasp milled vs. stamped on this type of watch,but "IF" the clasp was machined - I'd have to say that the bracelet would 'easy' rival bracelets of those brands that cost several thousands of $$$. This bracelet is VERY nice - simple as that.It is SO MUCH better than the hollow links hair puller I had on my previous SEIKO SNZD71K13) This is the best $160 I have ever spent on any mechanical watch !!I will take some decent pictures later, but

Same old story! Newbie wants inherited watch identified! c1948
Hi!Been lurking for a few weeks while my dads old watch went for repair. It's been fixed and cleaned and is running beautifully!Question is, can any of you Longines experts help me identify it?It's from 1948(?) S/N 7535098. 12.68N movement.(17 jewels). 9 carat Gold. Pictures attached should help. Thing is, I have failed to find any other Longines watch with this face and hands. Sure, I've seen the red XII before, but not like this?I will be putting it on the market once I know more about it.Thanks in advance for any advice given!Jimmy Hamilton.

4th of July Planet just landed
So I had to share my excitement with everyone as I just picked up my first Planet Ocean. A 42mm version with the 2500 movement. I luv it. Thought at first it my be too big for my 6 3/4 wrist, but turns out it fits just perfect. It even looks smaller than my 41.5mm Seamaster Chrono. Maybe due to the height difference. Anyhow I'm glad I went with this instead of the Speedmaster I was looking at. I really like the brushed SS bracelet it comes with too. Very cool. Great watch.Happy 4th everyone!
