Back after a few years
Have been busy with life for the past few years I buddy of mine asked about Rolex pricing. Man was I way off!!! What the heck has happened in the past few years!I picked up all (5) of our watched (wife and I) from 9/2004 through 8/2005, yeah, it was an expensive year but I was also getting 20% off retail and no tax! Those days are gone. The AD is no longer selling Rolex, any thoughts on why?? Anyhow, I can't believe all the changes, everyone of my watches has been changed dramatically. 16610, 16570, 16613. I guess I will never be selling my three (like I would anyway.So it's been 9 years this Sept. for my 16610 and my wife's Datejust, I have not had any of them serviced. I figured I would have them all serviced at RSC @ 10yrs old.Sure wish I picked up a SD as I do not care for the new SDDS at all.Oh well cheers to all of you!

Hey all:My WGF Square needed to be serviced. It took a little while for some of the parts to be found, etc, but I received a call and it is ready for pick up. I can't wait to have the Sqaure back...the watchmaker is certified by both PP and Rolex and has a great reputation. He says the waych is running to within a few seconds a day.Sorry for the scary picture...it is a few years old and it taught me to trim the wrist hair

Here's sort of a spin-off of THIS THREAD: how do you decide which watches you take with you? I just realized I have pretty much taken the same 3 for the last several getaways.I have 3 criteria: function, camouflage and replaceability. I bring 3 for specific functions because I need one beater/beach/diver (the OM), one dress (the MLC), and one casual (usually the AT). Camouflage means how well it will fly under the radar. No sense getting mugged in a foreign country over your watch! Also, as I can't easily replace many of the vintage watches I usually don't take them anywhere. Not that they can't be replaced, but it would take me a very long time to hunt another down in the same condition. After putting anywhere from few months to a few years to search out the perfect example it would hurt to have to start all over again. While the MLC is a limited edition of 100 so it may be a chore to replace, it scores very high on the camouflage factor. So why do you or don't you take certa
