Cartier w6920031 wrist watches news:
What is your favorite complication currently offered by Hamilton? For the purposes of this survey I have grouped the flight complications together. Also if you like a flight watch with a chronograph (i.e.; X-Wind) that would be counted as a flight watch. Regatta countdown watches would be included with alarms.
I just got in my Ventura reproduction silver and black leather strap that Hamilton issued with the first run Ventura's only for a few months. I picked it up at that place by the sea. It's got the Hamilton logo and "Electric" words embossed into the inside of the strap. It really makes the Ventura come alive. Richard Arbib had the right idea and the watch feels 'complete' now. I recommend it to everyone who owns a Ventura.I know that our illustrious member and expert sells them on his website and I would recommend buying from him FIRST. Problem is he doesn't or didn't have them in silver at the time I inquired about it. RUN, DON'T WALK AND BUY ONE.Here's some photos of it:
The seller couldn't open the case so I took a flyer on this Elgin based on the front and back pics and a description. "Pre 30's wristwatch mens or women." $8.50 FTW.Suprise. Genuine Elgin marked case.Movement in case ring. Crystal just drops into case. The back is a bugger to get threaded in right.Movement is a 8/0 grade 519 from 1934. Clean and running. Not much left of the minute track. Needs new hands and a wash. Notice the stem tube attaches to the movement ring and mushrooms out to accommodate a large ID crown. The jury is still out on the men's/women's question. Looks like it could be a man's model using a woven leather strap like the Hamilton Donavan.Any comments? Anyone recognize the model? Joel
Chromalight is Rolex's patented lume which they love to taut as being the best in the industry. But did you know that the dirty secret behind Chromalight is that it's actually just superluminova! Now, the confusing part is whether it is literally just a stock version of SL or if it's a proprietary blend. Omega uses BG-W9, a stock mixture of SL and there's suspicion that Rolex is literally using the exact same or VERY slightly modified mixture but just calling it a different name (one they trademarked). Could owners of both watches chime in and even better, provide a side-by-side photo?Remember for the photo:-both watches should be in the same photo since photographic variations can distort an accurate comparison-Exposure time should be kept modest to prevent color blooming (it doesn't need to be super bright, just needs to show off the color accurately) + if you have an dSLR, ideally you could take images with multiple exposure times?-Charge time in both watches should be relatively e

I've been eyeing the 5980ss in a long while, I am very excited finally being able to nail this piece in Asia and i have prepaid the watch and planning on flying out to pick it up myself. In the meantime, i have to unload a piece in order to make the wife feel better lol..Anyway i have been thinking of parting with my 5 month old rolex 116718 GMT, however i do have a soft spot for this watch, don't know if i should put it for sale or just keep it. input will be appreciatedHere are couple snaps of my friend trying on the 5980ss for me since we have similar wrist size.. followed by some pics of the YG gmt.
