Cartier W69004Z2 wrist watches news:
This month on watches-dealer, you have a chance to win a limited edition Torgoen T81 mechanical automatic pilot watch. The Torgoen T81 is named as such in honor of pilot Spencer Suderman who accomplished a record-setting 81 inverted flat spins from an altitude of 23,000 feet in his Pitts stunt plane. Because "81 Inverted Flat Spins" is actually written on the watch dial, the wearer should know what they are - and the answer is a particular aerobatic maneuver where the plane is spinning while falling upside down. The Torgoen T81 Limited Edition watch is 43mm wide in a black-colored steel case that is water resistant to 100 meters. The aviator-style dial is legible and clean, offering a timeless sporty look enhanced by accents of red color. The Torgoen T81 has a sapphire crystal and contains a Swiss automatic mechanical movement. Attached to the watch is a distressed Italian black leather strap with contrast stitching. Torgoen has limited the Torgoen T81 to just 200 pieces, with a retail
So we can all attest to the extreme greatness of the 2254.50 in so many ways, but now that it has been discontinued for quite some time, where do you think it will fall in history? Will it be up there with some of the best vintage pieces that Omega has offered? Will it be considered one of the best dive watches of its time? Will it stack up to the best that Rolex and/or Patek Philippe has had to offer? I am also curious as to what will happen to the 1120 caliber movement. I'm assuming it will be phased out, which is sort of a shame. Any thoughts would be appreciated. :)P.S. I am such a proud owner of this piece and I hope to hold onto it for a very long time. It is a true honor to own one.
guys which do you like more, the tt or ss for the new gmt2c??
Took the plunge and bought a new Seamaster PO 600 45.5mm today. Black bezel versionWill join my small collection comprising an Omega Moon watch and Rolex SD4000. My son was very pleased to see his inheritance grow!
FedEx delivered on time. Lots of photos have been posted with lots of info. I hope to impart something different.First, here's the commemorative box:Then opened with plastic in place:And the commemorative plate:The case back:Now some points of interest (at least to me) . . .Mine is numbered 16## which makes me wonder if Omega started with 0001. Somehow I doubt that 1600+ have been produced. More importantly, I put my micrometer to the FOIS and found that the diameter of the caseback and bezel are the same as the standard Speedy Pro. The sapphire halo makes it difficult to accurately measure the diameter of the dial but the measurements from the outside end of the 9:00 marker to the outside end of the 3:00 marker appear to be the same. That makes me think the dial of FOIS would fit the standard Speedy Pro.And lastly, I want to thank my longtime FD for his persistence. He came through again as usual.
