A 1917 Elgin Brought Back to Splendor....................
Hey guys ! ! ! You kind of got a sneak peek of this one, at least the dial and hands the other day.Well, testing on the movement is now complete and it is all back together now.This is a 1917 Elgin Trench Watch with an OFFSET CROWN, size 3/0s.Like I said in the teaser thread this dial style does not get much love, everybody always wants the Pershings, RED 12's, and other enamel military dial Elgins.This dial has NOT been re-finished, just a ton of hard work to bring it back to splendor.Bold Arabic font metal military dial with factory drilled hour marker lum holes.As you can see in the before pictures this one was pretty rough and in some need of help.The hands that were on this watch when I got it were the wrong ones so I have replaced them with a set of correct hands.I re-lumed the dial and hands just as they were back in 1917.I did some work on the case and installed a brand new glass crystal with UV cement and a UV curing machine.Cleaned the 7 jewel movement, it's running like a ch

Query why watches stop on watch winder?
Hi all. I have 20 watches, of which I regularly rotate 6 of them at any one point of time on my 6 watch winders. That way, I can easily put on a different watch each day without needing to manually wind each one up. However, I have noticed that at least 4 of them grind to a complete stop when left on the winder indefinitely. Logic and past experience tells me that the watches should remain working when left on the winder; afterall, that's the whole point of having a winder, isn't it. I have also ruled out that it is the winder that is at fault, because my other watches do not suffer this problem when left on the same winder for any length of time. So, I'm assuming that it must be the watches. FYI, the watches are an Oris TT1 Chrono, IWC Aquatimer Chrono, Longines Admiral Chrono and an Omega Schumacher Legend Speedmaster Chrono.Does anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong? Should I send them in to a Service Centre for checking? As I am in Australia, would anyone have an

Opinions about PAM 320
HelloI'm just about to pull the trigger on a PAM 320. I already had it on my wrist for a testdrive, together with a PAM 90 and 233. The 233 is too expensive, the look of the 90 too shiny for my taste. I love the 1950 brushed case, the weight, the clean dial, the slightly domed crystal. I think the 320 is a great watch for business and off work.What do you guys think about the 320? Any good reasons for not buying it?Thanks for your opinions!
