Cartier Cartier 40688 wrist watches news:
Baume & Mercier has been turning to its extensive watch archives to inspire its recent men’s watch collections, such as the Clifton. Last year, the Swiss brand launched a new watch line for ladies that takes its aesthetic cues from past models. The new Baume & Mercier Promesse, now in stores for Mother’s Day, is influenced by a classical model from the 1970s.Baume & Mercier’s history with women’s watches stretches at least to 1918, when the founding duo of William Baume & Paul Mercier began creating jewelry watches in the Art Deco style of the era. The brand introduced the influential Marquise ladies’ watch, with a bangle bracelet, in the 1950s, and went on to introduce several award-winning models in the 1970s, including the Mimosa, Galaxy, and Stardust. The 1970s also spawned the ladies’ watch model that most directly influenced the design of the new Promesse collection, which is characterized by the juxtaposition of an oval-shaped b
In the beginning the watch gods created the wristwatch, and it was good.Up until the early 1900s, pocket watches ruled the day for men¡¯s timekeeping fashion. These were worn on a chain in a pocket, either in a vest or trousers. It was considered ¡°sissy¡± for men to wear watches on their wrists. However, in 1904 Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont collaborated with his friend Louis Cartier, the famous French watchmaker, to design and create a timepiece for the wrist that could be easily read while flying. Something that wasn¡¯t so clunky and awkward as a pocket watch which Dumont hated to keep having to pull out of his pocket in flight. Thus the Cartier ¡°Santos¡± was born, and the official birth of a new era in timepiece design: the wristwatch. The wristwatch really caught on during WWI (circa 1917) where the soldiers had the same needs as Dumont¡ a convenient timekeeping apparatus that didn¡¯t need to be pulled out of a pocket during stressful action times. Finally, it became not only c
Dear Folks ! Just try to shoot few watches and i never make it perfect . Best RegardsAndy
Hello!Yesterday I subscribed as a member to this forum. Reason for this is that I recently bought a Hamilton Electric Titan III.The story behind this is that I am a big fan of Elvis Presley. After wearing a very cheap 10 dollar casio for some 20 years my wife said "Why won't you start wearing a proper watch!". Instead of wearing those commercially watches that are aimed at the "fan" market I investigated in what types of watches Elvis wore. His first wrist watch that has been documentated was a Lord Elgin, but I cannot figure out what type it is! (Does anybody know?). Soon I became aware that the Hamilton Ventura is known as The Elvis Watch as he can be seen wearing his private watch in Blue Hawaii. Not long after that I found out it is impossible for me to obtain such a watch (...financially...). So I tried to find a compromis. I live in The Netherlands (Europe) and we have a big e-Marketplace which you can compare to eBay. But they do not auction an object, but you can place an offer
Is it easy to change the strap of the AP Diver? Can I do it myself and what tools I will need?
