My love of interesting Japanese watches is greatly enhanced by my love of Japanese anime and related Japanese pop culture. Many people who design Japanese watches are likewise influenced by such media, so it is inevitable that once in a while the brass at the top will allow them to release watches with a techno-cool vibe from a very well established brand such as Citizen. This watch will likely never see the light of day officially in the US, but it is going to be offered as a limited edition of 500 pieces (250 pieces of each style) in Japan (and maybe a few places around there). Price is pretty high for a Citizen watch, but within Campanola standards though.The inevitable comparison people are going to make to a watch like this (especially the white and black one) is to Star Wars (storm troopers). I am looking at a Patek Philippe dress watch for frequent, if not daily, use. Hence, I require an automatic movement and would prefer the watch to show date as well.I have been in store to look at the new models and clearly like the 5227, with its clean, classical Calatrava look, coming close to the original 96. But, and this is a big but, it is simply too big in size. Hence, I had to give up on a new watch (as the complicated end of the range it out of my league).I have hence been looking at pre-owned models and have found that the 3998 seems to meet all my requirements: clean, classical look, automatic, date and 34mm. I am, however, unable to find much information on the series? Can anyone point me to a good source, where I can find information on how long it was produced for, any differences within those years (especially on the movement, but also design features), etc.? Is there anything I need to watch out for as I enter the pre-owned market for this watch?Many thanks for your hel

I am considering purchasing a PP 5153g and would be interested in hearing from anyone who owns this watch. I currently wear a PP 5196r and love its elegance, but there is something about the face of the 5153g that I love as well. Cheers
