- I have now owned two HRM watches. The first one worked for a reasonable length of time, say 6 or 8 months. It then was able to receive heart rate data from the chest strap.

Cartier W31093M7 wrist watches news:
I'll admit that when I saw that Frederique Constant was announcing a smart watch platform, I was dubious of what they might show. This has nothing to with FC specifically, I quite like the brand in fact, but more that a brand with a fairly classical approach to watch making, a brand without any tech to show, not even a digital watch in their current line up let alone anything with software, was delving into "smart territory" just seemed off. I thought to myself, how on Earth is this Swiss brand going to make something competitive, something more than a momentarily news worthy item that would quickly be overshadowed by Apple or just forgotten as a novelty (remember that Gilt Smart Watch?..), a misguided detour in territory they didn't belong.Well, what they presented was extremely surprising in many ways and ?intriguing; The MMT (Manufacture Modules Technologies) Swiss Horological Smartwatch platform… Which actually is a company as well as technology, but more on the former later.
As part of a photo competition organised by CharlesN of which I was co-winner along with DiamondGirl. The theme was to design a Rolex advert to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Rolex brand, a name "coined" by Hans Wilsdorf in 1908.this is what I came up with, and thought I would post it again here just for a bit of fun, and hope that DiamondGirl will post her winning entry too :)All the best,Harry
Is it complete overkill to have say a GMT from Omega and to add a GMT IIc? Basically if I have a collection of Omega but now want the same thing in Rolex (Sub etc...).
It is interesting to note that some JDM Orient Star Power Reserve automatic models introduced lately come with a hand-winding and hacks. Hopefully more will follow suit. I have always been a fan for their PR series but havent got to pulling the trigger yet.
I tried on this 2010 SuperOcean today. What an incredible watch. Though it says 42mm, it feels much smaller due to the dial size. The price is 2,300 dollars, as usual, I was tempted but did not pull the trigger.I would like to hear some opinions from others on this watch...,
