- This watch is so pretty. I was more than pleased with it when it came in. Not as sparkely as I had imagined, with the diamonds, but still very beautiful.

This week's Bring A Loupe will present to you some unusual, even a bit outlandish, yet truly beautiful watches. Let's start with a tool watch that Patek manufactured in the 1960s, with a stainless-steel case! You will also discover two rare divers, the Omega Marine – the first diver watch ever produced – and a more recent Universal Geneve. Unfortunately, we will also need to flag many doubtful pieces that you should stay clear of. This is your Bring A Loupe for September 18, 2015. A Tool Watch From Patek, The Amagnetic Reference 3417 1 OF 8 Countless times you have heard in Bring A Loupe that steel Pateks are rare. What about a tool watch that can face the aggression of magnetic fields? Yes, this is what the Patek Philippe "Amagnetic" reference 3417 is all about, and only about 500 of them were ever produced. We introduced you to this incredible reference in the past here and our infatuation with this model has not decreased one bit si
Since I got my 2200.50 last May it has reliably gained 0.23 - 0.30 seconds per day. This will be its first winter and over 15 days ago I noticed it started to lose 1 second per day. So, on January 1st, I reset my PO in accordance with Time.Gov and up until January 9th it was losing 1.2 seconds per day. Today I just re-checked it and it is losing 0.67 seconds per day. I am not concerned at all since it is still keeping excellent time. I just think it is interesting the effect the season has on the caliber. Anyone else notice their Omega doing something similar?-JB
I bought a pre-owned 2541.80 41mm Seamaster Bond Quartz off Craiglist a few weeks ago for $675 in very nice shape. The serial number is 55,341,xxx. Interestingly, the dial appears to have luminova, and the hands and bezel PIP are tritium. There is a star on one of the lugs indicating a production change I believe?Anyone else seen this?
A nice piece on the Nautilus and on Genta's love for what he called his masterpiece.
