With this forum into it's third month, I have had the pleasure of greeting old friends here and meeting new ones. And on a watch forum, you also get to know their watches.I have added three Hamiltons since the forum started and not that I am nosey. . .well, not too nosy. . . how may Hamiltons have you purchased SINCE the forum began on January 1, 2008?
After an exchange of information with Boscoe recently regarding a moderators role, I have just recently realized that WTF Moderators play a much larger role than simply rule enforcers. I tend to look at everything from a Law Enforcement type perspective, and have always held a bit of disdain for moderators of message boards. I wrongly viewed them as security guards or watchmen tasked with ferreting out trouble-makers, and breaking up fights. As a policeman I tend to view people who hold this position and are not real cops as a bit laughable. I have just realised that this task is probably one of the lesser used tools at the disposal of a moderator.Moderators have to keep threads flowing, introduce new threads, and new things to discuss. Moderators have to get a general feel for each members personality and guide or respond to them accordingly.I feel a bit silly for having such contempt for them up until now, and let me say personally that I respect and admire the work that each an
This morning I received the call from my AD that they had a 5712/1A for me. Needless to say my pace of incomings this year have been much more frequent than normal but there is no way I was going to pass on this one. I stopped by on Aug 7th after getting back from holiday to let them know I would be interested when one came in. So, i was super surprised to get the call today 9 days after requesting it. I really love the dial color as well as the asymmetrical dial and it¡¯s probably the most unique dial of any watch I own and i don¡¯t think I will ever get bored looking at it. The micro rotor is a very nice touch on this piece as well because to me the movement on the back compliments the asymmetry of the dial. The bracelet is super comfortable although impossible to actually get off.
