Snagged this Mate from eBay Friday evening for $160. There are two small spots of wear on the bezel and it could use a new crystal. The first order of business will be to apply black enamel to the bezel and midcase engravings. The seller indicated that the dial has been refinished sometime in the past, so I won't have any qualms about sending it and the hands to ID. I believe it should be two-tone (Greg/Rick?). Then off to the watch doctor for a fresh service even though it's currently running and keeping time.

95 years ago this coming Monday on November 11, 1918 the Armistice was signed ending the bloody fighting of the Great War.But, the war would not officially end until June 28, 1919 when the Treaty of Versailles was signed, exactly 5 years after the assignation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.The United States celebrates Veterans Days on November 11th but other parts of the world call this day Armistice Day or Remembrance Day. Question to other Canadians
I am purchasing a Speedy in the US, am I better to have it shipped to Canada and pay the taxes (13 per cent) plus possible brokerage fees or bring it home with me and get the $800 duty free allowance, however I will have to pay the state sales tax (7per cent) I think it is likely a wash either way. I could just no declare it, but how do I explain the box and other papers. I am not comfortable at being a smuggler it not just not in me, besides I would hate the fine and being on their watch list forever. Any thoughts!

Best Entry Level Platinum Leather Strap Patek?
Hey All,Im looking to get a leather strap Patek in the next 6months and was wondering what you thought was the best option in the 30-50k range? Ive looked at 5146p which is around 46k used... as well as 5056p which is 36k used... any other options? Im looking to Platinum as I have a Rose Gold DD2 so looking for something different to Gold.. and I think it'd be pretty neat to have my 1 and only Patek be in Platinum!
