I am pleased that Scott Devon?considers my opinion valuable enough to run designs by me and ask me questions about the future of his rather cool high-end electromechanical watch brand. As part of this exchange I learned that the highly-anticipated Tread 2 watch that we saw hands-on on here?at Baselworld 2012 was likely to be put on hold. That was distressing to me as the Tread 1 needed a suitable follow-up, in addition to the fact that I liked the Tread 2.Nevertheless Scott wasn't happy with the design of the Tread 2 as it was after Baselworld. The project was re-assessed and it was possible that the Tread 2 wasn't even going to be released. This was despite the fact that Devon had orders for the watches. There was even a possibility that the Tread 2 was going to be skipped in favor of another model.In the end, the Tread 2 prevailed, but in a new and more distinct form. Hey! Wanted to come in and introduce myself. I am on the market for an automatic chronograph and am doing my proverbial homework in regards to different types of timing mechanisms, brands, and dealers. I love the way things work and spend a good deal of time working on my car and motorcycle. It was only a matter of time before I upgraded from a Quartz watchSo here I am to learn about this world, to the best of my ability, from the people that know it best.I have been looking at the Omega Seamaster Chrono and the Planet Ocean Chrono. I went and wore them at Tourneau yesterday and was satisfied with them both, but am still not clear on which one I want. I am a little partial to Oris as they produce a true motorsports watch. I have to go check those out.

Private sellers offering warranty cards signed by AD without date filled in
Questions for the forum...I'm looking to purchase one of the Omega PO ceramic bezel NIB watches from the sales forum. There seem to be several sellers offering NIB watches with warranty cards with AD stamps, however the date isn't filled in, and the sellers have disclaimers they're not affiliated with Omega--they're just private sellers.1) How do these sellers obtain watches without the date filled in? Why are there so many people offering NIB Omega watches without being affiated with Omega?2) If I just filled in the date on the card using the date I purchase the watch, would Omega actually offer a 4 year warranty? Or is there something Omega uses to determine the exact date this watch was sold by the AD (perhaps by looking up the serial #)?Thanks in advance

My Most Versatile Rolex
I usually wear my 16710 on oyster or jubilee bracelet and rotate between a Pepsi and Coke bezel. But I recently purchased a leather nato with faded black bezel and it's hard to believe it's the same watch. This watch is so versatile with its different bracelet/strap options and numerous bezel colors. No wonder the values keep on rising.
