- I received this watch as an early Christmas present. It is the perfect dress watch. Very classy with lady-like portions. The gold finish matches my 14kt gold jewelry exactly. I haven't used it enough to answer for the durability, but I have had other watches that have lasted for years.

Really, it is about time we started to see something like this. First of all, forget that this is going to be a very expensive fashion phone, despite whatever technical achievements it may make. The argument still stands that mobile phone technology is progressing faster than is prudent to make any one large investment in a phone. Alternatively, making a large investment in a watch is safer, because it will still be technologically relevant in a few years - a mobile phone will not be. So unless Ulysse Nardin has a plan around that, this product is still only going to be for a niche market. What really excites me however is a glimpse at an idea I have been preaching for a while now - use of a rotor to generate electrical energy for a mobile (always moving) device.Lets step back and recall the first luxury phone, the Vertu. watch as an investment?
I dont have that many watches in my collection as yet! but being in this industry for 4 years now, I have read up alot, study quite a bit and seen quite abit, attend courses, exhibition and the omegamania, I would say I am definitely more 'educated' than the 19-year old me. The question that I am often asked mostly from friends, is ' I dont collect watches, but I want to buy one to invest. Which would you recommend? My budget is anything from $1 - $10,000' My first reaction is always to give a smile ,laugh abit and then give my opinions about the question. So what would you say to novice buyers, or collectors?

Hello forum friends -I'm hoping to get your suggestions as I search for a vintage dress timepiece.I'm looking for a leather band timepiece with a simple face, preferably with little-to-no complication; time-only is great, but time-with-date is okay. A moon phase may be nice, as well, but I'm not tied to it.Here's where it gets a bit complicated. I'm looking for something that's 38mm or larger, and something that's under $10,000, preferably under $7,000.I love vintage AP's, but I'm open to Vacheron and Patek, though I suspect the budget won't hold for those brands.Any thoughts?
