We found another watch that my Grandpa had tucked away in his things. It's a Gruen and I'd really like to know how old it is and any other information about it. At the bottom of the dial it says "Ra swiss Ra" what does this mean? The watch is working and since i started it around 6 last night it is keeping time just about to the second. One thing that bothers me is that the crown is very hard to wind. I think i may have got it to make 3 or 4 complete revolutions and then its just to hard to turn. To my surprise it was still running this morning. I'm thinking it needs to be serviced but I'm not sure when I'll be able to get that done. How much do you think a watch like this would cost to get serviced? I spent some time cleaning it up, it was really dirty. I also cleaned up the crystal with some Novus 2 and got a lot of the scratches out, still needs more polishing though. Also, I removed the bracelet, it was not in good shape and i had to forcibly remove one of the spring bars because
i Stupidly purchased this watch from a Tourneau back before i found this site. So i 'settled' on the right watch ..but no box, papers, or any other materials other than the generic Tourneau crap. Anyone know how to potentially pick up any materials for this watch? it was new in 2005. I bought it used in 2007.Also would be interested in a good source for the rubber strap for replacement sometime soon. Thanks for any advice.David
I was actually in the hunt for the 352 but this beauty popped up with b&p at an irresistible price and i snagged it.Its got a couple of scratches but for a vintage homage i think it suits beautifully. The movement as checked by my watchmaker's timeographer is running at +2 secs a dayCheers
I thought it would be cool to see how many divers are on TRF. Post a picture of your Rolex and your dive certification. I got certified in 2005 while living in Hawaii. I have dove all around Hawaii and South Florida.
