A Double Whammy Today !
I went to the post office to pick up the 2 watches from Michigan early this morning, and then after the shop opened.....I headed up the road to pick up these 2 ......one is a customer return , and it needed to be fully cleaned, the complete service .....and it had been so long since I had seen it, I forgot just how unusual and good-looking this 1943 Elgin is ....15 jewels, and it's rose gold .....and I believe the bracelet is orginal.....the dial is stellar donchaq think ? and the movement is clean as that proverbial whistleIf I am not mistaken a square watch made in 1943 is rather ahead of it's time....mostly they were made in the 50s ....oh and the movement is a 554and then this one is my personal watch ....a 1959 Bulova,.....the lugs are very thin and delicate as you can see in this photo, and one lug had the inside part come away from the case .....lucky for me I caught it before the entire lug came off and then it is an "ex" case ....and for it's time it is a good size, and fairl

It needs a mainspring, cleaning and timing along with a new crystal. I would also like to know what type of band would be considered original. 15450 girlish watch?
Hi, I'm considering to buy 15450 or 15400 next year so I visited Selfridges in London fro see which piece looks good on my wrist.After I tried both, 15450 looks better and balanced on my wrist so I told dealer that I like 15450 but he said 15450 is for ladies, and if I wear 15450, all of my friends who wear 15400 are going to laugh at me.Is it true? He makes me confuse to saving money for 15450.Anyone wearing 15450??

Hacking?
I’ve seen a few threads that have mentioned “hacking” what does this mean? I’ve only found that it refers to when the second hand stops when the crown is pulled out. Is there some use for this feature? I searched around some, feel free to point me to an article or thread! Thanks
