TAG Heuer WAH1214.BA0859 wrist watches news:
Hey Y'allNow over time as you know some watches become very much sought after. The once denigrated PloProf for instance and then there's the SM300. Certain versions of the Speedmaster naturally, beginning with the cal 321 in all their various guises. Then there was the " transitional " c861 model which bore the applied metal Omega symbol. Sadly, some less than scrupulous dealers were even claiming models produced in 1968 but without the metal symbol as being transitional. Even early versions of the c861 are now much sought-after as are of course, various commemoratives of the Apollo XI mission, the Apollo-Soyuz, Snoopy Edition and some versions of the Missions Series. So in say, ten or twenty years from now, what do you imagine would be collectors' pieces from the current existing catalog?I'd say the obvious choice would be the 2254.50, even if a reasonable number had been made. It's such an archetypal diver that its' "immortalized" status is virtually guaranteed and in those terms, the
So I stumbled across this 1970s Seamaster Omega shortly before the Ebay auction ended. Only had one picture, but the seller had good feedback so I went for it. Now that it's in hand, I'm not so sure I made a good decision. I don't have the means to open the case back properly, so I can't take a look at the movement. The things that I'm worried about the lack of "Swiss Made" any where on the dial, there is no "box" around the day/date, and the hands have tails (which I've read is incorrect?)The seller stated the crystal, date wheel and crown were recently replaced. The crown is nice and shiny, with the Omega symbol, the date wheel is more silver than champagne. Sorry for the poor pictures, they are all I was able to get last evening. The Face reads: OMEGAAUTOMATIC Seamaster COSMICAnything else I should be looking for? Or do these things appear correct for this vintage?Didn't notice this until I got better pictures, the black under the feet is not a shadow, it is printed on the
I don't own an Omega YET ! but this link (sorry about the size of it) implies they are not made in switzerland anymore !! (second paragraph under the main picture)images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...a%3DG%26um%3D1
Question for anyone who has a gold RO on a leather strap. How do you clean your watch? Assuming you dont want to get any water on the leather strap.thanks
Hi guys,I am currently contemplating my next purchase. Having purchased my Rolex GMTIIc TT a month ago, I have been wearing that watch five days a week for the whole past month and I have realized that its looks too flashy and stupid on a pair of jeans or hoodies. Im thinking of keeping that watch for dressier occasions and getting an Omega Seamaster for casual everyday wear.I have previously owned an Omega SMP 300 quartz 'bond' and sold that because I couldnt stand the fact that it was quartz. I also owned an Omega PO 2500 42mm in black, and sold that because it looked too plain. Now I want something that looks sporty. My choice is between:- PO 8500 Black w/orange markers 42mmUploaded with ImageShack.usPros:- 8500 movement, ceramic bezel looks superbCons:- is it worth the extra $$$??- PO 2500 Orange 42mmUploaded with ImageShack.usPros:- Sleek, lightest weightCons:- Possible issues with 2500 movement, looks outdated?- PO Chrono Orange *Used*Uploaded with ImageShack.usPros:- Nice chunk o
