Silly little question to kick off the New Year...
So I have a friend here at work in my department, he's not much of a watch guy, he has a couple Citizens that he wears...that's cool, no big thing, not everyone is into expensive watches, and I happen to have a couple Citizens myself that I really like. What peaked my curosity though, is that we were talking about watches one day, and I don't remember exactly what he said, but he mentioned the chronograph function on his watch (although he didn't mention it by name) and I realized that he didn't fully understand the point of it. He keeps it running all the time, so it's in sync with the hours, minutes, seconds. I guess when he got the watch he waited until mignight and activated it and he's had it running ever since. I tried to explain to him the purpose of that function but he actually seemed to think it was a bit strange. So...here's the question...if you keep your Chronograph running NON STOP on your Daytona, or on your Citizen, or any watch for that matter, what would the impa

Pershing Twins Elgin and Waltham
Been itching to post this couple for a while, but I've been away from home for the last month.You may remember my all original (incl crown) 1918 Elgin in a Sterling Silver Illinois case I finally have its twin - a Waltham Pershing, which I find pretty compelling in the originality stakes, with a Sterling Silver J. Depollier case, most likely original silver crown, 1927 movement and the hands look authentic too. Depollier and Waltham had a strong relationship in the teens through 20s.Movement is unserviced and needs a clean (but running well). Dial is nice and crisp, with clean crisp stars and logo and sub-dial everything fits together in a non messed with time-capsule way. There are a couple of dodgy dials around (I know, I have one) and the quality of this one and the other is day and night. I can't see any differences from Adams, with respect to the dial. Unlike the Elgins, I can see no evidence that these were lumed, so the white hands are what I would expect.

Too many? Or not enough???
So I'm sitting here in my home office, and just looked around & realized I have 6 clocks in the room in plain view - and that's not counting any watches.. There is:the computer clock on WindowsAn atomic clock on the wall above the credenzaA 24" Seiko on the wall opposite the credenzaA clock on my desk next to my monitorAnother clock on the shelf on the "L" of my deskA clock on the bookshelf across from my desk.And this doesn't count the time on the 3 phones plus cell phone on my desk.Now before someone asks.. Yes - they are all set to the same time! So my question is, is this too many? Or not enough????? What's your thoughts...

Yeah, someone forgot to send her that memo! Had lunch with my mother last week and she stole my watch for the duration of the meal. Oh, and I think she rocked it, too.

Broken in strap?
