Movado¡¯s new Series 800 Datron is inspired by the classic 1970 Datron automatic chronograph. The new model is the first entry in Movado¡¯s Collector¡¯s Edition series. The 40mm tonneau-shaped Datron is powered by the ETA caliber 2894-2 automatic chronograph with 37 jewels and a 42 hour power reserve. The round date aperture at 12 is an homage to Movado¡¯s iconic Museum dot. Two dials are available: black with silver subdials and silver with black subdials, as shown below. The Datron is available exclusively on a combination brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet with butterfly deployant clasp. The Datron has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and exhibition case-back, and it is water-resistant to 5 ATM.The Datron is priced at $2990. Look for it in stores in May.

Hi,I know it can be frustrating to answer questions without any pictures, so i apologise in advance for it.Anyway, there's an old Omega lying around which belongs to my dad. He wasn't able to send me any pictures, but this is what I got from its description:Made sometime between 1950-1970, its larger than 38mm, gold case, chronograph movement with manual winding and it has two subdials at 3 and 9, respectively.If anyone can provide me any info, it'd be greatly appreciated :)Thanks.-Dhruv

Fishin' in the Bay: A bright spot
So, we've all heard eBay cautionary tales and a number of people have horror stories of their own. In contrast, I thought I'd share a refreshing incident: I just bought a '27 ladies Hamilton for my wife. It was a bit of a beater in the photos, but I thought for the price I cd deal with it. Watch arrives on time, packaged in a proper box, with a fresh strap (unexpected) and looking and running absolutely great. Was astounded. I've never ordered something that looked a bit weak and got something that was in reality top drawer. So, while it is undoubtedly the exception rather than the rule: Sometimes crappy photos actually hide a great watch!

Citing Sources
Another thread prompted me to start this thread. In many forums, this and others, I have discovered, every now and then, posters often will post something as if they were the original source then the original source becomes evident somewhere down the road (i.e., the same words will be found in a book on the subject). Although providing information is laudable I wonder if an underlying intent is to come across as a walking encyclopedia thus bolstering their forum appeal? So, the question posed (not begged) is: What are forum (this forum and forums in general) tacit or written rules about citing sources? Is there a forum (this forum and forums in general) code of ethics when it comes to not citing sources? Should those who do not cite their sources "be outted"?

Still in love with my RG 44... but...
I love my RG 44, it's probably my favourite watch, but I do wish it had the stunning golden coat of arms rotor. I had a closed ROC before so I've never had one and it's always been one of the nicest imho. I also bought a 5711 and not a 5712 so I don't have the micro-rotor either I do appreciate the cut outs in the galvanised rotor for better visible access and it is a pretty cool contrast to the case. Guess I'm just trying to stay away from splashing out on a Datograph.
