Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Jeff Kuo, the founder of Xetum, known for their California-designed Swiss watches. In this interview, we reveal where his watch journey started–it's with a brand many of us likely kicked things off with as well!watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Jeff Kuo (JK): I am the founder of Xetum, which offers a collection of modern automatic watches, designed in California and made in Switzerland.ABTW: When did your fascination with watches start?JK: My grandparents gave me a Seiko sports chronograph when I was in high school. I was immediately drawn to the instrument-style design and how all the different hands, sub-dials and markings blended together.ABTW: A humble start. After that, what became your first grail watch?JK: A. Lange
Im having a hard time finding a white faced Lady Datejust with diamonds on the bezel and not on the face. Is it possible that this was "one offed" by someone? Im trying to help ID this for a friend. Thanks!Uncle Dave
Hi guys, I've been looking at the 60's models of Oyster cased watches. I'm curious about the Zephyr and it's 1570 movement. I think I'm drawn to the crosshair dial. Anyone ever own one, or know any information about them? How about the dial - is it prone to premature aging or is the finish up to normal Rolex standards? Thanks!
Just a friendly heads up.There is a new GMT in the case at Tourneau in King of Prussia Pennsylvania. With all the talk of a shortage I thought someone might be able to scoop this up.
I've heard that the first wave should appear late May/early June. Does this sound realistic?
