It's January, 2013 and that means SIHH is just around the corner. Actually, it's about 2.5 weeks away. Which means you're about to start seeing a whole bunch of new releases from some of the best brands in the world. We're starting off the new year with one of them - what is likely to be Piaget's biggest story of the show this year, the new Emperador Coussin Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater - the thinnest self-winding minute repeater ever made. 2 OF 6 3 OF 6 4 OF 6 This new record-setting repeater sits at just 9.4mm thick, while the in-house caliber 1290P is an incredible 4.8mm thin. This is the fourth high-complication that Piaget has taken into the realm of the ultra thins (they also own the title of thinnest self-winding tourbillon, perpetual calendar, etc), the 11th complic

Hello everyone,At the last minute, I decided to get my girlfriend a watch for her birthday. I tried to get a feel for her preferences, without giving away the surprise. She said, "I just buy whatever is cute and comfortable Accessories I like rose gold cause it looks good with my skin. White looks good with my skin too. Basically bright colors on accessories look good but I like pink a lot." However, I want to get an automatic, since she already has a quartz watch. The issue is that I need it by this weekend, so I'm limited to stores with expedient shipping. I came across the following options: amazon/Orient-FNR1Q00...glink122305-20amazon/Orient-FNR1Q00...glink122305-20amazon/Mechanical-Aut...5%3A2470955011amazon/Mechanical-Aut...308e3b4833999dThe last one is not available for Amazon prime, but I included it because I wonder if I should try to track it down rather than buying the SSVM009, since she expressed a preference for gold. Both the Seiko's, furthermore, have Sapphire crystal fa
So...My ploprof bezel started to be a bit stiff, so I decided I have to be brave and pop the bezel off and give it a bit of a clean. My plan is to make this watch (all original watch) an active dive watch, which means I have to replace the crystal and crown gaskets at some point. I might replace them myself, as it would be a nice little project, and then have it tested for water proofness. So today I popped the bezel. And it was DIRTY under there. And I also found something interesting...So here we go...Some masking tape, and a small Victorinox pocket knife where my tools.Bezel came off really easily.Bezel popped off. I started to insert the blade between the case and bezel, and push inwards, no twisting at all, and it literally said pop. Then I slowly started moving the blade around the bezel, gently twisting the bezel free from the case.As you can see, there was some 10 years worth of dirt.Backside of the bezel, very dirty too...A good q-tip dry slightly moist (since I'm not sure it's
