At the end of the month I will be announcing a winner to the aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer Orient Mako Automatic Diver watch giveaway (sponsored by Island Watch). It takes about a minute of your time to enter, and you'll be glad that you did. Click here to spend a second taking care of it.
Have been noodling around the swamp lately and this rather exciting watch popped up ...so I dragged it over to my watch section ( as in keeping an eye on) and here 'tis eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low pricesI thought is was a handsome and unusual watch .....then just now, I hit the "enlarge" button .....and oh my stars and whiskers......lookie at that dial !!!can you say ....bad re-dial....I thought that you could ......do you think this is the way it orginally looked, and someone just had a very unsteady hand when attempting to repaint the dial ? Or did someone come up with this design all by themselves and decided that it looked better .....and except for the uneven lines, I am intrieged by the arraingement of the elements I rather like it ....but it feels a little off ....whatchu guys think ????
I've been looking at lum-tec and deep blue, but know very little about them. Something a little different than a diver. I was wondering for a possible future purchase, what pro's and cons of these two brands. Is one better than the other? Auto's are a must.
online.wsj/article/SB1000...707126380.htmlWhen a man in a Cartier watch stepped into the IWC Schaffhausen boutique in Beverly Hills recently, salesman Hua Huynh sprang into action. He led the customer to a case of Aquatimers, the Swiss brand¡¯s line of self-winding dive watches. ¡°What¡¯s the damage?¡± asked the customer, pointing at one model. ¡°The value is $5,800,¡± replied Mr. Huynh. ¡°Would you like to try it?¡±Hovering nearby, Jean-Marie Br¨¹cker winced. Not sure if I am allowed to paste the entire article. I have a subscription to WSJ so if it is allowed I will paste it all.
I am in a ¡°big¡± dilemma at the moment, I am a big fan of the 5980/1R. However, right now I have only a 55K budget that I can spare, which would get me a 5711/1R but I dont really like 5711 because its too thin for my liking. But with my current budget I can afford two watches that I like, the daydate 40 and RO 15450OR just dont adore them like I do the 5980/1R. Should I wait and save up to buy the 5980/1R which would take me a few months or just go with the other 2 watches that I like instead? I would love to hear some opinions. I currently only have a gold daytona(is variety/quantity really important?) FYI- I am only 21 and go to college(I earn from joint business with my mom) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
