My First Chance to Inspect the Explorer II, 216570
Today I got a call from the friendly folks down at Beauchamp Jewelers.I had asked if I could have an opportunity to see the new Explorer II watches before they had a chance to bolt out the door on some buyer's wrist.I was having lunch at the time and they needed to get them checked in and whatnot, so I went and bowled a couple of practice games and then drove over to the shop.There as promised the watchmaker emerged from the back with two caskets, one bearing the white dial model and the other bearing the black dial model.I've been a little critical of the new styling with the broad hands and the orange 24-hour hand, but I've held back on final judgement until I could inspect them personally and put them on my wrist or wrists in this case.I have to say, albeit a little late, the new Explorer II watches get the coveted GradyPhilpott seal of approval.They are stunning watches. They do not overpower the wrist, or at least my wrist, and the hands from a normal perspective don't look like

What are you WIS doing with your AP at 10:10?I was with my daughter in the ICU 2 days ago when she was treated for her first attack of breathlessness. It was such a nerve-wrecking experience when your loved one was suffering from such emergency. When she was on her first nebulizer, I decided to record the moment and that was when I noticed my AP-clad arm was holding her for support & encouragement. It was nearing 10:10am...10:10 resembles a V sign which signifies victory! And million thanks to the team of doctors and nurses, my girl was recovering very well and was discharged from hospital yesterday. Just a day before the incident, I was meeting Ben (aka benlee) for lunch and we talked about how short and fragile life is. Hence when all necessities in life like housing, insurance, sustainable investment, etc have been catered for, it is always a good idea to splurge on hobbies, travelling, etc, during our prime years when we have the means and stamina to enjoy the best part of our

I have a good service story for you all. My Breitling Evolution was getting tighter on my wrist in the last 6 months and as hard as I looked I could not come up with the two links I had removed 8 years ago when the watch was bought.I decided to stop by Ganem Jewelers in North Scottsdale to have them order me a link. I had seen one on e-bay for $139 but thought I would compare prices at the AD. plus, I love looking in the pre-owned caseTheir certified Breitling Watchmaker, the only one in the state they claim, looks at it and says hold on. He comes back and says a new link is $75 but if you have a few minutes I may have one in my parts bin.He comes back about 5 minutes later and has found a link and say he will put it on and polish the entire band for $50 if I have 15 minutes to kill.I was happy, the watch and band look great and it feels a lot more comfortable now

Wanting to join the Panerai camp
I am looking to replace my Breitling Steelfish and am seriously thinking about Panerai. The reason I sold the Steelfish was because it was just too heavy (listed at 122 grams-not sure with bracelet or not) and it was constantly sliding into my wrist bone. I could never get comfortable with it. I currently have a Submariner that I love dearly although i would not want anything smaller on my 7.5 wrist. I am looking at an entry level Panerai like the 111, 112 etc. since I really like the clear caseback. I don't know how the watches feel nor what sort of wrist presence to expect. I also don't know if a leather band will change the way it feels on the wrist versus a metal bracelet like on the Breitling. Or should I be looking at a titanium model?As always y'all's expertise is welcomed.
