Cartier Cartier 47098 wrist watches news:
Antiquorum Auctioneers will hold part one of its “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” auction at its U.S. headquarters, on Madison Avenue in New York City, on April 25. Included in the spring auction will be an exceptional lineup of collectible Patek Philippe wristwatches, including a Patek Philippe Ref. 3974 in platinum as well as a Patek Philippe Ref. 5013 in yellow gold. Click below for details and to see large images of some of the watches being offered. The highlight of the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 3974 in platinum. An extremely rare model, it was made in 1992 and is the property of a focused long-term collector. The watch is an astronomic, minute repeating, self-winding wristwatch with a perpetual calendar, leap-year indication and moon phases. It is stamped with the hallmark of renowned case maker Jean-Pierre Hagmann and is accompanied by the original Patek Philippe mahogany fitted box, spare platinum caseback, Certificate of Origin, setting pin, bookle
Some watches cost $36,440 and are worth every penny. Other watches, like the Nomos Tangente, cost $2,330 and make you wonder why more companies can’t (or won’t) produce models offering this much value. The Tangente is the type of watch that makes writing this column easy. A little too easy. At this price point, there’s no other modern brand that gets design, manufacturing, and quality consistently right – across a range of models, to boot. The Tangente is minimal without being sterile, modern without being brash, and above all, it houses an in-house movement, the Nomos Alpha caliber. This is a true Value Proposition. 2 OF 8 The stainless steel case is just 6.7mm thick ¨C a welcome break from watches that are still too thick in the 21st century. First, let’s discuss the size: a stainless-steel case measuring 37.5mm x 6.75 mm (despite the "38" in the model name) is unusual for a new watch, especially in a market lately dominated b
I was given 2 watch's. One was a Rolex (Keeper-in shop for a complete set up) The other was sorta like- 'Take that other watch too'. Turns out it was a 1962 Omega seamaster de ville.550 movement.14K gold filled case.Original omega band.Rare dial in a 'Basket weave'. It runs fine, just fast. What kind of money are we talking to have this baby fixed properly. (I saw one dude had a similar watch and sent it to omega to get cleaned and tuned. There estimate was $780!) I am not really that excited about it. I would rather just keep the rolex for 'nights out', and buy a nice sieko for all around day use.(Ok maybie two siekos-one 'beater! LOL) Whats this worth now? and after set up? Thanks!!100_9443.jpg100_9463.jpg100_9432.jpg100_9421.jpg

It used to be, an effective soldier was someone who spent a lot of time learning how to use a weapon. But the bolt action, smokeless powder, rifle (actually invented in the late 19th century, but it was perfected in the early 20th) changed warfare much more than the generals expected. Now anyone with a few hours of training (if that) became an effective battlefield killer. Smokeless power made snipers much more lethal, and individual automatic weapons (first the 9mm SMGs in World War I, followed by the AK-47 after World War II)2. Wrist watch. Superior battlefield coordination has always been an advantage, and for thousands of years flags or musical instruments enabled a general to give orders effectively. But in the 19th century, armies got too large for the ancient methods to work. Early in the 20th century, the wristwatch became popular, and th
