Benrus Wristalarm Story
Got spliced a couple of years ago. As a gift for my bestman I gave him a Benrus Wrist Alarm SS watch from the 50's. It's identical to one I have from my Dad. Beautiful creamy dial, and working great. I had it completely overhauled before I gave it to him and put a nice black strap on it. He wears it to Lodge and when dressed up. Today we went to a funeral for a Lodge brother's wife, and he was wearing it and I was wearing mine. They looked identical. He told me that last week he was in a meeting and a guy (a fellow WIS as it turns out) complemented him on hus vintage watch. My friend couldn't remember what he was wearing only that it had a clear caseback. Darn, no one ever notices my watches!!!

SIHH is almost here: What would you like to get from AP?
I kinda stole this idea from another watch forum, but hopefully the guys there wouldn't mind.So, what watches do you like AP to roll out in a few weeks from now?My wishes for the upcoming SIHH:1) RO 15202 in white gold or platinum, on bracelet. Would make an awesome grail piece, although the price may be excessive and unreachable for me in the next 1 or 2 decades :( 2) Titanium Royal Oak with a ceramic bezel, on a rubber strap, preferably in the 37-39mm range. I see 1% chance, it would be too close in many ways to the Offshore range. 3) Same as #2, but in full ceramic, on rubber strap. I see a bit higher chance to see this sometime in the future. 4) A smaller Offshore Diver, somewhere around 37 to 40mm. Panerai Service Alternatives
I've recently joined the Panerai family and have what I think is an awesome 121. It is about 11 years old and looks pretty damn good. The two problems I have with it are that it loses about a minute a day and the top chronograph button is very hard to push. Now I know people are much more likely to complain about a problem than praise good or excellent service, but I am a little leery of sending my watch to Ft Worth (unlike my recent good experiences with RSC Dallas). So I can't find much about satisfaction with alternatives like Govbergs in Philly. They seem to handle practically all makes and models. And with this being an El Primero movement, the fact that they also are Zenith ADs is comforting. Any advice would be appreciated.

3 watches, 3 continents - no more rolex for me
With a new watch box in for Christmas I got the collection together for a small group snap. These represent half of the Collection with the other half covering, Complications & other brands.In looking at the Rolex however it struck me that the expression I’m done is often used on TRF however my Rolex journey is well and truly over and I thought I’d share the snap on TRF.The DD2 was bought from a certain DavidSW in the US and will soon reach its 5th year birthday. It’s the oldest watch in my collection and a promised heirloom to my daughter. It will never leave the collection.
